More evidence that the graphical "nextgen" leap won't be as big as many people had dreamed of:

It is indeed funny isn't it.
First the wii u was not as powerful as the current gen according to some developers. Next it was equal to current gen. Now Ubisoft, the only big third-party that actually took time to learn the system confirms in every possible way that it is between last gen and next gen. Exactly where it should be.
When the first lot of wii u games came out the opposition were all laughing their asses of deliberately ignoring the fact that the system was new and will take time to learn. BTW the fact that not many games have been released on the wii u means that there is as much to learn on it as the other new consoles.
Now with all the recent 1080p v 720p upheaval going on in their camps they are all reminding themselves that the systems are new and will take time to learn, even though all developers say because of the similarities between PC and PS4, xone it is very easy and quick to port games both ways.
The power of the wii u is far closer to the other two than most think and although it would never match them it is the size of the gap that matters.
When consumers see for themselves that they had been sold a lot of lies about the wii u and compare the graphics of all the new consoles next month the wii u will look a lot better deal for the price.
My thinking has always been that many wii u potential buyers are waiting for just this moment to see and compare all the consoles for themselves. The same happen with the x360 when it launched early. All the talk was of PS3 eating it for lunch. The sales were slow but when consumers saw the supposed gap wasn't there they snapped up the x360.
In recent weeks the wii u bashing has pretty much stopped as haters are now too busy worrying about the alledged power of their supported console.
I intend to enjoy this very amusing time.
