This is great and all but until internet as a whole gets much faster, very few people will actually benefit from this.

This will be the way of the future but its just too early.

Well I hope people start to implement this immediately for those with good enough internet capability.  Which is literally millions of current gamers.

The rest can tag on later.

WHY is it that just gamers think we have to wait until EVERYONE has decent internet and can join in to implement an internet based feature?  Its ridiculous.

What other business or service thinks like this?   Its a very strange and flawed way of approaching innovation.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be implented, the sooner the better really.

I do support this and the only problem I'd ever have with this is the need to always be online becoming a necesity eventually but it's something we will all have to adapt to at some point.

How I see this is like when HD started and more recently 4K.  Yes they're great techincal leaps in gaming and raved as amazing and must haves, but as 4K is experiencing right now, and HD in its early days, the jump just isn't going to be attainable for the majority of even dedicated gamers because of price.

I'm just hoping this doesn't become another "if you don't have HD/4K gaming you aren't a true gamer" shit happening again.  I already run into this with certian snobs with 4K with computers......

Brings back the whole casual vs. hardcore shit......which is a super grey line that has a million meanings.

But graphics are good enough as it is. I don't care about the cloud and it might as well not exist to me.

Then you wont buy the games that implement cloud features.  Thats your choice, but your choice shouldnt limit my and other peoples options.

No i will buy the games that impress me. If it has cloud features, i will just disable them most likely. And who said my opinion was law? i didn't.

We are talking here about games that will require cloud to make them work. They arent features and if you disable the cloud the game wont work.  So you will have to pass on those games that impress you but that require cloud.

Nothing in the OP implies that. The OP just says you could use the cloud to have better graphics. No where does it say it is required. Surely without the cloud, you could still play it. I don't see how it would be any different to playing a HD game on a SDTV. It still works fine but is just less pretty. No big deal.

I suppose that might work for some games.  Lets assume it does.

So you are saying you would actively turn off that facility and make do with reduced graphical performance despite the fact you have an adequate connection?  Why?

I can go without extra graphics, my favourite games don't have the best graphics but instead just have decent graphics. Also, i persume it would still look better than today's games without the cloud. And my wireless connection ain't the most stable. I would hate it to randomly disconnect and cause my game to end because apart of it was in the cloud. Either my router is on it's way out or Virgin are just shit as a IP. But, we'll see if this cloud thing takes off in gaming or not.
