I'd love to see Iwata ask Rockstar interview if GTA V goes to Wii U.
Iwata: So GTA is finally on a Nintendo console.
Rockstar: Thanks for the money!

NFS is a great game but EA kicked NIntendo fans too much in the gut for them to give a flying fuck about EA atm. ACIII is a late port which did ok.
Finally do you understand what Mr Khan is making? He is saying that grnanted the userbase isn't that big but the only way to expand your games is to put them out. Not everyone can afford multuple consoles and these so called Nintendo kids grow up to be adults. So they can establish a new user base on a system. Same with COD, biggest mistake was not releasing COD 4 at launch on Wii. All the users left. Now when you look at the sales of COD on Wii U that is a result of that. The fans left. They need to build a new generation of fans. These developers need to realise that the same deal was when the other consoles launched, they needed to establish there base. Same is possible on a Nintendo system if it isn't treated like a lepar and only given scraps as people are not stupid |
I wasn't talking about userbase size, I doubt you would have got a much better reaction from Nintendo fans on the Wii's 100 mill userbase. It's not up to third parties to build WiiU's userbase, remotely.
None of those games did ok and your reasoning is so poor "EA kicked Nintendo fans in the guy" dude the majority don't even know what EA is. It's all excuses as always.

add to that is that Nintendo is a brand that is family friendly, whether nintendo likes it or not it is. a huge chunk of its sales comes from parents buying it for their kids, that audince simply isnt interested in games like GTA. and probably the most important factor is that porting a game with the scale of GTA wont be easy and cheap. this game is HUGE. the maps is extremely huge. the content is unbelievably high and rockstar have their standards. porting everything to the WiiU wont be easy, wont be cheap and wont be fast. it will take tons of resources and time to do it and all for what? a few hundered thousand? their fanbase is already on the PS360, why bother? ohh and it doesnt help that the WiiU sales are beyond horrible at this point (i just remembered to add this right before pressing post) so to sum it up 1- rockstar never had a presence on nintendo consoles 2- all their fans already have atleast one of the two consoles, except maybe the few PC fans 3- Even though CoD had its fan base and fans on the Wii the WiiU version of CoD only sold 190K 4- A lot of WiiU owners are kids who are interested in games like mario and mario kart, games that are generally targeted towards kids. kids who arent interested in games like GTA 5- lengthy and costly porting of the game that simply wont be worth it, specially considering how big GTA5 is 6- extremely bad WiiU sales. so yes, mainly due to those reasons i think porting GTA5 to WiiU would be an extremely stupid idea that simply wont have any benifit towards rockstar what so ever |
None of this makes any sense. There was no GTA presence on Xbox until GTA was on XBox. There was no Final Fantasy presence on XBox until FF went there (or PlayStation for that matter). Those games did fine. If GTA5 was on Wii U it would sell way over 200k and make money and possibly convert a few new fans. I see no reason not to do it. It's a good game, Wii U owners would buy it.

Xbox already had games that appealed to the GTA demo.

The core fans who know who EA are are also the ones who would drive sales in the early adoption phase. EA did exactly what they intended to do and got poor sales as a result.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Don't buy it, have to agree to disagree, if its true then it's even more stupid, cutting your nose off to spite your face. If you want a decent game you like just buy it, and they were quality.
There are some cold hard facts people just refuse to accept and that's that games like GTA won't sell on WiiU in any good numbers whilst they're on multiple other systems which appeal to that type of gamer. Until we see any evidence suggesting they do I don't know how anyone can argue it?

Until we see evidence that they don't, I have to see the belief that they won't as buying into stereotypes.
Edit: And i agree it was quite stupid. EA *did* cut off their collective noses to spite their face, and now are limited to only two viable platforms. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

We've seen enough evidence, you're just covering it up.
EA have put out third party games on the WiiU, they've done their bit. It's evidently not a loss to them, Nintendo are not viable for their games.

A lot of people are asking it for it on Wii U, and GTA has an established fanbase on Nintendo systems. Chinatown Wars sold 1 Million+ on the DS alone. It would be smart. It would be stupid if they DIDN'T put it on the Wii U. |
Everyone owned the DS, it selling 1m on the system (140m userbase at the time)
1. Isn't impressive
2. doesn't correlate to it having an established fanbase where hardcore nintendo fans are concerned, which all the wii u consists of right now.
At the the same time, I don't doubt that GTA5 would do well enough on the wii U to make profit, but I don't think its enticing enough for rockstar to make the effort. Not unless Nintendo give them a reason. Remembering Rockstar/Take 2 are not EA or Activision, its more then just a bottonline profit for them.
I'm getting the ps3 version,so I could care less about it coming out on those systems. lol
