seen this thread on PSU and thought it might get a Good conversation going.

'Ok i am going to throw a spanner into the works in and put a scenario together and see what is possibly outcome of my theory.

Right we have all this hype and threatening console wars winner and estimated price tag of the PS4 console and games. An guessing of which exclusive content will be on the PS4 and will current gen games move to next gen consoles

The other thing is the value of the promotion and marketing, is it worth it if this console fails to impress and appeal to the mass gaming community as a whole... Will they lose money on everyone sold and that is a yes..

Will not revealing it at the conference earlier last month, did it hurt them in a way yes... Did not having a massive conference focused on games alone hurt them yes...

Did focusing on nothing worth the time and all this hardware and controller talk hurt them maybe. So I wonder with all the news coming out since then, has it made an entire difference on the future of the console and will it be a gaming future or a gaming death for Sony as a strong player in the industry

So what if? ( The PS4 Failed ) Are Expectations And Sony Quite The Gaming Industry, What Then

A massive cap in the market needs filled or will it be a two well controlled race between MS and Nintendo

Will the gaming Industry fold up and die, will this Change your opinion of continuing gaming or just move onto another media

Or...what if Sony team up with someone in the next gen of gaming??

Around the Network

well it would be interesting to see both nintendo and MS fanboys going at it for once

The gaming industry would do just fine with any one or even all three dying off. gaming history is littered with the rotting carcasses of companies people thought gaming couldn't do without.

Lots and lots of crying, plus A LOT of "internet suicides" (and maybe some real ones...)

Nintendo and PC gamer

It would be pretty insane for them to leave the entire industry. Even Atari publishes the odd game here and there now. If they left it would be a shame because we would see the death of many IPs, making Sega's situation look like nothing.

Microsoft and Nintendo would more directly compete with each other than even before bringing the console industry to an almost PS1/N64 like state in terms of competition.

Around the Network

Then the game industry will forever be boring

Everything would be under Microsofts rule then completely

..and the lord knows that AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!

so he seems to ask himself alot of questions and answer them wrong..

but the route question is interesting. it would creat a massive void that would need to be filled, Same as if Xbox failed.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

Sony would rather team up with Nintendo to annihilate Microsoft than just completely remove itself from the console market, as of right now, Microsoft is the only thing threatening it.

I would cry. A LOT. But I don't buy only Sony systems, so I would end up just playing the other systems just like I did when Sega quit consoles (that's around the time Sony became my favorite, early-life of PlayStation 1 and Saturn cycles).

But make no mistake, there's no replacement for Sony, they're the best. I hope by the time this day comes, I'm dead already.
