270k through ps+ sounds "low" to me. i mean, most people who have ps+ pay for it because of the games so i would expect that download numbers are huge.

i wonder how the download numbers for big games like sleeping dogs look like.

or Battlefield 3...

It wasnt free on plus, just a discount.

Now it went from incredibly low as a "free" game for ps+ to incridbly awesome what a discount can make !

Does anyone yet know or have proof that PS+ downloads give money to the publisher?

do you have proof that ps+ gives absolutely no money to the publisher and they just give away their games out of the goodness of their heart?

..because common sense would suggest otherwise.

I agree, I just recall reading an article from an indie dev who had a game on PS+ and he mentioned that he gained exposure which led to increased sales of other games. This jsut made me question if the title was 'free' as it wasn't selling anymore and they ended up making money elsewhere from it.

From ethomaz's later post it was shown they are paid!

And Retro City Rampage was FREE in US.

I don't know about EU.

Devs already said they receive money from PS+ games.

"For the two games we had for free on PS Plus, the revenue from the free offering was between 10-15 percent of the overall revenue we made from each game,"

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/191966/playstation_plus_good_for_.php

So they have revenue from the "free" PS Plus version but of course it is less than the paid version.

So who gives them the money? Sony?

This will make ps plus a zero operation for them then? If you don't consider people taking advantage of the discounts.

Sony.

And the Plus is profiable to Sony too... they already stated that.

Alright nice. Are there any articles that talk about this ps plus strategy?

I think it's an interesting thing to read about

How that works... I guess not... just Sony knows.

There are a Sony exec interview that he said "Plus is profiable" but I can't found it fast in google right now... I think I'm using the wrong words.

In EU it was around 5 euros if you had plus a couple of months ago. I got it for that price and it was worth it.

For psplus I think that a part of the 50 euros you pay go to publishers who allow their games to be offered in plus and the rest is just profit. I also think that they have a deal on every game since a game like Battlefield will benefit on a different way than a PSN game.

Battlefield will get more crowded servers, you can buy DLC (on discount) and EA also benefits for awareness for the next installment of the Battlefield franchise. However a small developper can actually become popular and receive recognition from the new community which will help for their older/newer games that they'll release.

Stories unfolded with my home made rap songs. Feel free to listen here with lyrics: https://youtu.be/vyT9PbK5_T0

I bought this on Wiiware despite having it on PS+ just because of this guy keeping his word to release it on Wii (and I wanted to own it if/when my PS+ subscription ends) sad that only about 2000 others bought it as well but such is the nature of an underdeveloped ecosystem like Wiiware. Thankfully the Wii U eShop is doing better from what I have heard.

I have yet to beat the game yet but have played it a few times on both PS3 and Wii and it's fun, I'll go back and play all the way through one day.

I'll be on the lookout for the net Vblank Entertainment game and probably pick it up too, so guess he made 1 fan at least.
