So, maybe there was reason related to the memory for those lockups at E3.

Lockups at E3?

Don't tell me they made a machine where the CPU and GPU could access the same portion of memory at the same time.....

Screen Freezes.  There were two demos, I don't recall which exactly, the Bungie one for sure, and another, where the screen froze.

There is something about GDDR5, where the memory needs to be flushed, it isn't the same as DDR3.  I don't know the technicals though.  I read a conversation about it and it kept going back and forth over which had what benefit and which had what drawback.  Intertesting technical thread but no one was a tech expert.

I would have thought that such a thing would be a given, since it's WHY we don't use GDDR5 in PCs for primary RAM. Surely they wouldn't have missed such an obvious oversight.

I'm starting to wonder if they tried to remove the partition between CPU and GPU memory allocation, causing hardware deadlocks, or perhaps strangulation with the slower memory interface choking out access of the faster memory interface.

Actually, the only game that froze was Assassin's Creed 4, Destiny had nothing to do with the system.

Ethomaz bad translation: Now I don't see that like something bad. We need to wait tomorrow to see if Sony can explain or not"

PS. I think "chorrada" means bullshit... he guess it is bullshit?

In this context "chorrada" = "unimportant thing".

So right now he sees it as something important. (Modified to avoid any double negative problems in english).

I hope it's nothing serious. I'm still buying it

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

I don't want or expect this to be a big deal, but there is a sick part of me that would enjoy the unprecedented internet meltdown that would happen if there was something majorly wrong with using all GDDR5.

I make a really big mistake... I changed the post after

"Now I don't see that like bullshit" that what I wrote after the edit.

For some reason I just see it being about the OS amount reserved crap and they are gonna come out and say for sure how much the OS is gonna use.

But they wouldn´t call that drama

I know, but that's all I can think of.

Could you explain?  Our source?  I'll take a sourced explaination, but it looked like a screen freeze to me, if I recall correctly.

I'd say change the title to "PS4 RAM dRAMa" or just "PS4 dRAMa".

I wonder if the price of the off the shelves parts are catching up with the PS4.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.
