Well, game endings were bad back then. Really bad! Thats pretty universal for the 80s. So being told to replay it isnt much worse than a "congradulations" screen. I hate those.

Now that you mention it, Mario ended like "Now try again in a more difficult setting!" or something like that. I think Ghost n' Goblins deserves GOTY more because of its ending.
