Forums - Microsoft - Xbox certification unacceptable for free-to-play, says World of Tanks dev

taken from: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/196710/Xbox_certification_unacceptable_for_freetoplay_says_World_of_Tanks_dev.php

The article is short and is more so talking about the 360 rules for indie devs. I don't know/remember if the game is coming to the x1, but hopefully x1 will handle things better for these processes. Overall the developer of World of Tanks complains that the certification process is a pain for free to play games due to their nature of requiring frequent updates and such to promote/excite people for the game in the long run. They are trying to work with MS to stream line the process for them to make these things easier to update, and probably offer a comprable/same amount of support for the 360 version compared to the pc version. Overall it seems like World of Tanks is not pleased with the process as it currently stands.

I would think because of the money MS has to throw around?

Happy Wars seemed to be a success. World of tanks will do good as well.

Live is just structured to ensure security. But with games like Killer Instinct, their policies are bound to change with the times.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
