idk but MSFT has two first party companies that works with third parties. EMEA Publishing and Redmond Publishing. Neither of which i know anything about.

They cant talk about the contracts they have with third parties, but the Gears deal was IP oriented.

From what ive learned when it comes to publishing with a third party is that game most of the time stays exclusive (most likely something to do with the contract) but that dev after that game has the option of going multiplat. In other words i doubt MSFT owns SUnset Overdrive or Ryse but MSFT published them, funded them, and advertised them so they will stay exclusive at least for the first title.

Same happened with gears. EPIC chose MSFT as the publishers before each release but they always had the option of going multiplat, they just opted out in having MSFT as the publisher.
