Hmmmm, so I can now upgrade my phone without being put into another 2 year contract and I'm seriously considering buying the Nokia Lumia 925 Windows 8 phone. Currently I have a Galaxy S3 which is a pretty good phone but it's kind of slow and laggy, has abysmal build quality, and a rather poor battery life. If I get the Lumia 925 I'll be paying $21 a month for 24 months (0 down) or until I get the full $501 paid off.

What do you guys think, should I go for it? Or wait?

I'd go for it, I love Windows Phones personally.

The things that are currently holding me back though is the lack of a micro sd card slot, no removable batter, no swipe down menu to my knowledge (which is the S3's redeeming quality IMO), and it still isn't quite up to par app wise (no clash of clans, YouTube, and a few other pretty important one's).

@Jay: You're a beast man!

@Yo_John i have a windows phone and like it very much. Will personally continue to get Windows phones but you should play around with one first. It all depends on what you like.

I had a Windows 7 phone and loved it but the S3 did a whole lot more than it ever was able to and it used to be faster than it (it's not very fast anymore though).

Just how big of an improvement is a high tier windows 8 phone compared to a regular Windows 7 phone (before it got the 7.5 update).?

@Shik: Yeah that's true. I guess the storage isn't a huge deal since I'm not even using half of storage on the S3 (5GB out of 11ish) and the app I want most (Clash of Clans) is actually on the PC so I could play it there.

Also I could probably get $50-100 for the S3 if I sold it.

Actually I just realized what feature I like most about the S3...and that is being able to swype. Does anyone know if there's an equivalent to that on the Windows 8 phone that's of good quality? If there is, I will go ahead and buy one.

I think you should wait for the next wave of android phones to be released as well as the next iPhone. We should start seeing them released over the next few months.

Heh, well I actually ended up getting it. >_<

It's charging right now so I'm not using it but so far I can see it's a really well thought-out phone (for button placement) and it's ridiculously light. It's bigger than I thought though. The screen size is 4.5 inches but the overall real estate of the phone is only just slightly smaller than the S3.

I think I'm really going to like this phone though from the looks of it.

Wolfenstein looks very good. I really like the setting, I kind miss the WWII games btw... Saboteur and COD WaW were very fun for me thanks to the setting..

You got it already! Man that was pretty fast. I was actually thinking its about time that Nokia will release new handsets as well....but anyways!

Enjoy the phone I had a look at some reviews now and it looks really good - one of the better lumia designs in my opinion.

You also cant go wrong with Nokia cameras and screens

Yeah lol, I looked at a bunch of stuff and it looks like it will do 99% of what I want so I went ahead and bought it.  I know in a few months I'll probably be kicking myself for doing this because a new phone will come out that's probably incredible but I'm such an impatient person so I didn't want to wait...especially since my S3 was getting worse by the day (It's getting to be quite the bear).

Anyways, thanks for the advice (even if I didn't heed it XD).
