NPD halo 3 month, at this time over 14 million xbox 360s has been sold.

527K, beating out the wii for the first time. Halo launched less than a week before the month was over. August 2007 had 276k, October had 366k.

1.26M, while this did worse than the previous year with the release of Halo CEA note that at this time there were ~60M xbox ones out there and in 2011 they had their best November ever with the launches Skyrim, and Battlefield 3 to go along with Halo CEA.

 

Other things of note.

 

total combined Nov and DEC NPD for Halo 3 was 2.03M up from 1.61M the previous year

total combined Nov and DEC NPD for Halo Rech was 3.32M up from 2.1M the previous year

total combined Nov and DEC NPD for Halo 4 was 2.6 down from 3.4 from the previous year; but better than all non Halo years.

So Halo 3 only sold an additional 360k Xbox 360's (that's ironic) over it's prerelease baseline during a 7week period. That's a fairly big impact but it's not huge. Frankly the AC Unity Xbox One bundle had more of a hardware impact than Halo 3 did. That's why I think a Halo 5 bundle next Holiday season will do very well, especially if MS releases the Xbox One slim alongside Halo 5 for $300. A Halo 5 Xbox One slim bundle for $300 would very likely break the Black Friday record that Xbox One just set this year (according to VGC).

Too soon for a slim. My guess 2015 is a repeat of this year's crazy deals mixed in with a halo 5 bundle and hype from a good number of AAA exclusives. 2016 will be a slim bundle with Gears 4.

Have you guys see the The Forest gameplay? It somes first to PS4 but it'll come to X1 also I hope but that looked really good imo.

Don't know about that. All signs suggest that this is going to be a 5 or 6 year generation instead of an 8 year generation like last time, shorter generation means less time between new models theoretically. AMD is already working on a new chipset for the Xbox One, 20nm, 30% less power usage (lower power means less cooling is needed, which means a smaller case with a smaller cooling fan is possible). I could see Xbox One slim in 2015, Xbox One super slim in 2017, with a new Xbox coming in 2018 or 2019. 

Chips get revisions all the time, there was xeon, zephyr, falcon(black console with bigger hdd), and jasper before we got Valhalla(slim).

Yea just youtubed it and saw that. But it looks nice. When Pewdiepie played it it looked less appealing haha. The power of trailers.

Is Xbox.com hacked? It only displays in Swedish, I think, and it shows that Xbox Live on 360 is down.
