Question that got me thinking.
Do you (anyone here) think MS will run into the problem the Wii U and Nintendo had/have, with name/brand recognition? I mean launch was good for Wii U, but it was the months afterwards (January, February, March) where it just dropped. The average consumers didn't know the difference in system, and there was just a lot of confusion. Do you think MS and Xbox will run into these problems in January, or February. Probably a stupid question, but I want to hear what you all think.

I honestly do predict the XBONE will drop off like the Wii U (and I'm worried the PS4 will too) but I doubt it'd be because of name problems. The XBOX target market is way less casual than the Wii U audience and knows the new system exists and what it does. The bigger problem is them not knowing about the DRM 180.

I think it's just the opposite actually, a large portion of the Xbox One demographic are dudebro gamers and from what I've seen the dudebro gamers don't follow gaming news close enough to have even heard about the DRM before it was reversed. I've talked to a number of Xbox gamers and many of them didn't even know about the DRM and the DRM 180, they assumed that the Xbox One was just like the 360 right from the start. It seems like only the most hardcore of gamers who actually watched E3 live or who follow gaming sites closely actually learned about the DRM before it was reversed.

Oh I don't know. Even now I'm having to correct people when they say the XBONE restricts used games.

Ive said it for over 6 months but people who visit forums are in the minority so that would not be the problem.  In reality people are now getting advertising through friends and family who has one of the next gen consoles.  Even more people will know about them after christmas as people get their gifts.

At the end of the day games are going to push people to buy consoles.  Right now you are seeing the early adopters which are some of the most hardcore gamers.  Sales will drop because the lack of system sellers, not because DRM or any other nonsense.

PS4 has the advantage with a $400 price so there is that.  However many games that are coming out are also on 7th gen consoles as well.

Games like Halo, Quantum Break, Uncharted, and next gen multiplats that dont run on 7th gen are going to be the games that push people to get a new console.

Of course what your friends buy, specially with multiplayer games is also a big selling point.

The figures look like they're in the right ballpark at least.

200k first NPD, 200k this NPD, 200k rest of world. KS did like 300k+ I think?

Man, the "How the Saints save Christmas" DLC for Saints Row IV looks fantastic, makes me wish that it was a standalone DLC since I don't have a copy of Saints Row IV.

Currently playing SR4! If you liked 3 I'd recommend 4. Great game so far!!

Although, the whole thing really should have been like a massive DLC/expansion pack for like $30-40 dollars.

Nvidia Shield Running Xbox 360 Games

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/621638/general-discussion/-solved-playing-xbox-360-or-ps3-on-the-nvidia-shield/

Now I'm not completely positive about this but maybe someone else can give it a try or see if this works.

We have been talking about turning your phone into a mobile version of Xbox before but wouldn't it already be possible to do this with the same theory that got Nvidia Shield to do it?

1.  Download a Remote Play Desktop app to your phone
2.  Connect computer and phone via Remote Desktop
3.  Connect Xbox 360  to display on your computer
4.  Display would be on your computer and Remote Play would be on your phone via Computer.

Wouldnt that work?  Or am i missing something?
