Question that got me thinking.
Do you (anyone here) think MS will run into the problem the Wii U and Nintendo had/have, with name/brand recognition? I mean launch was good for Wii U, but it was the months afterwards (January, February, March) where it just dropped. The average consumers didn't know the difference in system, and there was just a lot of confusion. Do you think MS and Xbox will run into these problems in January, or February. Probably a stupid question, but I want to hear what you all think.

Nah, I think that claim that consumers were confused and thought that the Wii U was an add-on for the original Wii instead of a new system were greatly exagerated. The Wii U didn't do well for a number of reasons and I doubt that confusion played much of a factor, many found the tablet controller awkward to use, it's price was too high for it's specs (mainly because the tablet controller added almost $100 to it's price), Nintendo released the system too early and it suffered from low software support for much of it's first year as a result, the fact that several 3rd party developers/publishers decided to not support the Wii U because it was too hard to develop for.

As for the Xbox One, I don't see the name confusing that many people, the fact that it's the word "One" and not the number "1" should clue people in that it's not the first Xbox console. The only negative that the Xbox One shares with the Wii U is the fact that much like the tablet controller, some people find Kinect awkard to use and don't like the fact that they have to pay extra for it. However, the fact that the Xbox One's specs are still as powerful or more powerful than an equally priced PC, and the fact that the Xbox One has plenty of 1st and 3rd party software coming it's way in it's first year, should mean that it'll do much better than the Wii U did it's first year.

Great explanation

Yeah, I definitely agee with this. I hope the One can maintain a good amount of momentum into 2014. Should be interesting to see.

Man Forza 5 is irking me pretty bad right now. The combination of stupidly short races and the terrible drivatar system that you can't turn off makes for a no win situation. From what I can tell, pretty much every drivetar level of difficulty ends up mostly in a demolition derby...which is not what I want. Now this could probably be mostly solved by playing on the hardest two difficulties but if you do that, you have almost no chance of winning because unless you are a racing god you have no chance to place anywhere decent in two freaking laps.

Seriously why is it so hard for them to have races that are more than 3 laps (most of them so far are two laps)? Forza 2 was perfect in that regard since they had every type of race length up to endurance races that would last over an hour. It's been downhill ever since that though :/

Ideally they would have an A.I system that adjusts to your racing skill level and provide you with a nice challenge and let you pick what type of racing experience you wanted in regards to race lengths (for instance you could choose if you wanted short races like F5's current state or a higher amount of laps per race).

There, this is the right thread for this lol.

Another heads up Phil Spencer tweeted that Mike Ybarra (XboxQwik) Will be giving out some codes for games

This Mike guy seems pretty cool as well, He also tweeted this earlier

Shame all Gamers can't be like that or atleast stick to their platform without bashing the other ¬.¬ Lol

Where do we go to see what he's giving away as prizes? I went to his twitter page but didn't see anything about it.

Also, this guy is a hardcore gamer! Over 3 million credits in F5 and already got all of the achievements in Max.

It doesn't say on his account, Phil Spencer just said that he would be giving away Ryse, Max, Powerstar Gold, Live Subs and more, He was doing it earlier posting scanable codes onto his twitter so you will probably have to follow him untill he post one then quickly scan it with Kinect :P

Yeah Ikr, His also 100% Ryse which means he got 100 already ¬.¬ Also for his Steam account he has over 127 hours on borderlands 2 Lol

Yeah I saw that he posted a QR code for 12 months of XBL, entered it in quick (because I'd have to print it for Kinect to see it) and it was already taken...so pretty much there's no point in even trying because there will always be someone quicker

How does the guy have so much time to game if he is a manager at Microsoft Studios...it's insane! o_0

lol Yeah Drivatars bump you all the time.  I was trying to do races without having any penalties but i found it impossible because some asshole would just hit me around a corner.

It makes me feel like im online so i like that aspect of it.  But yeah it can be a little ergh at points.

Im not sure why they dont have endurance races though.  Hopefully they add more to Forza 5 as time goes on.

So found a petition somebody tweeted to Phil for Conker Other Bad Fur Day to be revived, It was originally suppose to be a sequel to Conkers bad fur day which had a story ready but it got cancelled?! Chris Seavor was the project lead and designer for Conker but got fired in 2012 but before that he said he would happily make Conker, Wtf Microsoft? ¬.¬ They need to hire this guy back and get to making Conker, Will be a little hard now since his with a different Studio....

Microsoft made really poor decisions in the past, Thankfully it looks like they have learned from their mistakes this time around

I'd love another conker :)

I didn't know he was fired.  Thought he just quit.  Though I didn't pay attention to the story at all.

And for a petition to work it will need prob over 100k signatures for them to care.
