I finally realized why Halo 4 lost players so quickly, Its because they made the highest in game multiplayer level the easiest out of every single Halo to get. Think about it, Halo 2 and 3 had people grinding soooo hard to get a 50. And Halo Reach's Inheritor was so high it was only awarded to the people who dedicated their 360 to that game alone. Halo 4's 130 was able to achieve in less than a month.

I don't think that was the only reason, but I'm sure that contributed. There were other reasons as well, such as the fact that ranked matches weren't added for a few months, the fact that classic gametypes weren't added to playlists for a few months, the fact that the game had less maps on disc than previous games and certain maps were restricted to certain playlists shrinking the number of maps per playlist even further, the fact that some of the weapons were poorly balanced (BR practically useless compared to DMR for a few months, Boltshot overpowered with it's charged shotgun blast, players abusing the plasma grenade in create a class by sticking anybody who came in to finish them with melee). And of course there's the fact that Call of Duty and Battlefield have grown in popularity since Halo 3, they've taken alot of former Halo players, I have several friends who used to play Halo who switched to Call of Duty or Battlefield.

This seems like they need to have a beta before Halo 5 comes out so they can deal with those problems early.

No, because the multiplayer was broken for ages so people moved onto Call Of Duty.

A week isn't really "ages". People didn't even give them a chance to have that awesome update.

Question that got me thinking.
Do you (anyone here) think MS will run into the problem the Wii U and Nintendo had/have, with name/brand recognition? I mean launch was good for Wii U, but it was the months afterwards (January, February, March) where it just dropped. The average consumers didn't know the difference in system, and there was just a lot of confusion. Do you think MS and Xbox will run into these problems in January, or February. Probably a stupid question, but I want to hear what you all think.

No, there's too much Xbox One advertising on TV and at places like McDonalds, Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, Best Buy and Gamestop. There will be no confusion.
