I looked at a video of the game. I'm not sure what the appeal is. This coming from a guy who still has fond memories of Sega Swirl tho lol

Hey guiz I'm in walmart, they had like 20 Xbox ones!!! Wasn't expecting that! Also it sucks using this site on a cell phone!

I'm on the fence about Forza 5. I prefer open world racing games over games with set tracks, I really liked Forza Horizon for that reason. I'd rather wait for a Forza Horizon sequel on the Xbox One, but I'm not sure if they're going to make one since Forza Horizon underperformed previous Forza games in both reviews and sales. So, I'm not sure if I should get Forza 5 now and hope that they release a new open world Forza later, or if I should just save my money for now and maybe get Ubisoft's new open world racer, The Crew, when it comes out. 

As for Ryse, it looks like alot of fun, but I'm not really into Rome, so I probably won't get it. I do hope that they'll turn Ryse into a series, but do new historical settings for each game instead.


Ill be reviewing forza 5 soon but i will say it is the best racing game ive played from a gameplay standpoint.  Forza continues to appeal to both sim fans and more casual fans if you keep the assists on. Drivatars are great, gameplay is great, and the amount of cars/tracks while not as much as Forza 4 still is plenty and great quality the ones that are there.

In the end I think Forza 5 is the best from a gameplay standpoint but from a content standpoint Forza 4.  Oh and a night/day/rain/snow cylce would have been nice.  And having auction house.  They still have custom paint sharing but i prefer the auction house.

First Xbox One update is live (for some at least).

 

Xbox One will be receiving a system update in the next few hours that focuses on addressing certain issues involving the dashboard, notifications, SmartGlass, and matchmaking, Microsoft has announced.

In a post announcing the new update, Major Nelson outlined just what the update will do:

  • Addresses SmartGlass issues for some users when coming in and out of connected standby
  • Addresses multiplayer issues for some users when re-joining games
  • Addresses issues with inconsistent notifications for some users
  • Addresses dashboard performance for some users
  • Offers improvements for Xbox One's TV, system update, and content update services for scaling over time
  • Updated wireless networking driver to improve connectivity issues for some users

Also explained are the two ways the update will be made available, as the process through which the update is being distributed is different than in the past. The first wave will begin today, December 10, at 5PM Pacific/8PM Eastern for those who are making use of the Xbox One's lower power Instant On state -- the one that allows it to be turned on using the "Xbox On" voice command.

When the system is not on after 5PM Pacific today (regardless of whether the system was already off or is turned off after that time), the update will be downloaded automatically and the system will be powered down completely so that "Xbox On" won't wake it. The system will have to be manually turned back on after the update is done downloading, at which point it will automatically install. The green Xbox One logo page will be displayed for 2-5 minutes during this process, and once the installation is complete, the system will reboot and send you to the dashboard.

Those who aren't using Instant On will have to wait until Thursday, December 12, at 4PM Pacific/7PM Eastern for the update to be downloaded.

The fixes in this update aren't those -- like upgrades to the party and multiplayer invitation systems -- that are most anticipated, but Major Nelson did say more updates are in the works for next year. "We've got quite a few updates planned for the next year based on the community feedback we've been seeing, and I'll have details on those in the future," he wrote.

Xbox One's first major update came on launch day in the form of a mandatory patch. Without it, none of the system's functionality -- including playing games or watching TV or movies -- is available for use.

Glad you posted that Yo_John117 :) I would be worried if I turned on my XBO and it was taking 2-5 minutes to boot completely
