I have a question.
Why do some people downplay Forza for not having a dynamic weather?
Is it really that important? Are they correct by calling it a not fully racing sim?
It seems like Fifa to me it's nice to see snowy and rainy weather but I disable them as soon as I can on exhibition matches.
I'm not a racing fan, so anyone a racing sim aficionado care to answer?

I actually commend Turn 10 for actually having the balls to put out a racing sim on a new console. Sony could have put out Driveclub at launch but wasn't confident in it. And played it safe by putting GT6 on PS3.

Yeah launch games are very risky. Not only do you have a much smaller user base, but also non finalized new hardware and a very strict launch date. As a developer I seem to appreciate when a game is delayed much more than the average gamer, but on the publisher side of things I know being there day one is crucial. Turn 10 seemed to manage these launch day stresses very well. The game came out practically perfect.

Epic Killer Instinct Combo i did, had to gif it too :D

Nice job pulling off an Ultra combo. I can't wait to finally get an Xbox One so that I can play all of these great games.

They've actually made Ultras simple enough to execute while in a combo. But that accomplishment is always there when you do it.

It will be interesting to see how this 1.2 million worldwide sales figure compares to the first week world wide sales for the PS4. This is a huge improvement on XBox 360, PS3 and Wii U launch sales figures. XBox One may surprise us all and end up selling more than the XBox 360 sales figure of 80+ million sales.

The thing is that you can't directly compare the PS4's first week sales numbers to the Xbox One's first week sales numbers because Sony split their launch while Microsoft launched all at once. That means that Sony had an extra 2 weeks to manufacture PS4's before their European launch. Launch sales are more about supply than demand, imo if Microsoft had 2 million units ready at launch and actually shipped them all out, they would have sold almost all of them, assuming they appropriated their supply between the 13 launch countries properly. A much more fair comparison will be the Xbox One's first 3 weeks against the PS4's first 3 weeks.

That being said, I agree with you that Xbox One's 1.178 million first week is quite impressive. It's exactly equal to the 360's first November+December sales (1.178m), isn't far behind the PS3's first November+December (1.253m), and is ahead of the Wii's first November sales (1.068m). It's also ahead of the Wii U's first 2 weeks (810k) and not far behind the Wii U's first 3 weeks (1.37m).

I think the Xbox One will top the 360's sales, if only because gaming gets more and more popular with each console generation (4th gen- 98m, 5th gen- 146m, 6th gen- 204m, 7th gen- 260m). The question is, can the Xbox One maintain the 360's marketshare (30%)?

well looking at how WiiU is doing (unfortunatelly) I would even say that they will go over 30% this gen...
I don't think PS4 will lead end of gen more thna the XB360 is leading the PS3 end of gen.... it will even be tighter than PS3/360 gap was  on average I'm pretty sure...

@gpatseye
weather in a GT sim game is just a technical argument it is total BS... I don't know a single game doing GT sim, that have decent rainy handling... Doing rain and just have your car go like a soap bar... And snow and dirt road... Wtf it's a GT sim not a WRC sim...
night is the only one I can see but beside enduro race nobody races at night IRL...
so in other word I'd take a forza 5 with no weather day/night over an f2p with """better graphics""" and weather day/night... Any day of the week....

The data is based on InfoScout’s consumer research. The company interviewed the first 3,000 shoppers at Target on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Are you trying to bait people with the thread title? Because the xbox one didn't outsell the PS4 at target, it was a survey.

Bet you anything that XBO outsells PS4 the week of black friday in America (This includes Target) as I posted in that link ^

So here is my question, why are you so concerned about what is going on in XBO Nation? xD

They should have rainy weather to be honest.  It isnt really a game changer but it is a nice thing to have at least.  None the less Forza has been a great franchise with plenty of other features like the auction house.  But yes I do believe they should add weather effects in future Forza games.
