Universal Windows Apps Coming to Xbox One

 

Many were expecting to see universal Windows apps in the Build 2014 keynote, and they have. However, Microsoft had a surprise in store -- you'll eventually see those universal apps running on the Xbox One, too. Developers will get to write apps for Windows and Windows Phone that translate to a TV screen with relatively little effort. The company hasn't said exactly when you'll see these multi-platform apps pop up on your game console, but we're hoping they appear sooner than later.

They said it during a interview with Illgaming (Frontlines site) but I'm thinking they might off changed again...they teased on twitter off them showing a game at GDC and never did and now with PAX coming up, Major posted that schedule list and Press Play wasn't anywhere on there or had a booth...unless he forgot about them, probably pushed the game back again Lol

They showcased Tentacles at GDC.

I think it will do better than the Ouya. A pretty obvious estimation. I don't think it really poses a threat. I haven't really read anything about it though. Just skimmed through the posts you put up about it.

I think they actually made a mistake by launching this kind of device. For me it is Ouya with entertainment features. They should not have purchased Double Helix they damaged Killer Instinct and sci-fi game as well. I am not happy

I dont really think it is trying to compete with XBO, PS4, and Nintendo.  More going after Roku, Apple TV, etc which i think Fire-TV sounds like a much better option.  Sounds pretty cool to me with Voice control and game support.  I could see people buying into it for sure
