Xbox One possible Permanent $50 Pricecut

A few days ago, Microsoft dropped the price of their Xbox One Titanfall bundle to $449.99. We are now receiving reports that theMicrosoft has slashed $50 off their entire line of Xbox One units.

As of now, the Xbox One Titanfall Edition and Xbox One with Forza Motorsport 5 both are running $449.99 at the Microsoft Store and a few other retailers..

In addition to the two major bundles being slashed in the United States, Microsoft has also reduced the cost of their Xbox One Complete Bundle, Xbox One Ultimate Bundle, and Xbox One Play and Charge Bundle all by around $50.

Microsoft’s Xbox One entertainment console has made unprecedented sales and surpassed the sales rate of its processor, the Xbox 360. As of now, we are unsure if Microsoft is simply putting their console on sale for a short period or if the Xbox One is receiving a permanent price drop. We have reached out to Microsoft for an official comment.

I hope this is permanent, Xbox One is selling well now and a permanent $50 price cut would insure that it continues to sell well. In the long run a higher marketshare is more valuable than making a profit on each console sold, because you get revenue from increased software sales, accessory sales, and XBL subs.

I agree.  They need to profit but they also need to stay cometitive with Marketshare.  If they can match the price of PS4 at some point and continue with the great pr and have a great future lineup the can continue selling at a high rate.

There's no reason to MS stop it's great output of blockbuster titles.
It can offer the best software line up out of the big 3 if they really commit to offer the best experience.
I believe they have the most 1st party studios at the moment.

The timing couldn't be better either, people can get an Xbox One, Titanfall, and Kinect Sports Rivals for $510, that's a steal, should help sell some consoles to casuals.

IIm hoping Kinect Sports Rivals is a success.  Im not sure what to expect from it when it releases because i think it is more of a holiday game but i expect KSR to do really well during the holidays.

Not necessarily.  It is about equal to Sony.  All of Sony's teams are two team studios.

Im not entirely sure why you have to be upset with an XBO pricecut. Am i not allowed to just be happy with my XBO as ive always been lol Hey, i guess i should be use to people trying to tell others how theyre suppose to feel though haha

Yeah, they'll probably include it in a Kinect Holiday bundle with another Kinect exclusive that gets announced at E3 and released this Holiday season. Microsoft has the best opportunity to appeal to the same casual crowd who bought the Wii and the original Kinect last gen, motion gaming isn't dead, it's just that the first iteration failed to meet expectations, but Kinect 2.0 is doing a much better job of meeting expectations so far from what I've seen. If Microsoft can lure in even a third of the casuals who bought the Wii and the original Kinect, Xbox One will be doing quite well.

As long as they can get the original Kinect Crowd (25m sold on X360) that would be perfectly fine.

So funny though, when kinect was first announced years ago i thought it was dumb as hell.  Then it was released and i was for sure it was dumb as hell lol  Then XBox One came and improved it so much that i cant imagine my xbox without it.  Games on kinect are still not my thing though, but as a media device it is amazing whether for skype. twitch, or for voice.

I was really surprised i was enjoying KSR but as i said before, i still prefer a controller for games.  I think beyond KSR there prob will only be a handful of kinect focused games i get throughout the gen.

Downloading Kinect Sports Rival Hub for free. What's worrying a little... is that 3 star rating it has. Usually exclusives on consoles get high ratings, even if the game is meh - bad.

Do you guys (Jay and Shika? or others who've played it) enjoy the demo?

I enjoyed it very much so.  The only issue is youre going to need some space between you and Kinect so not everybody is going to be able to play it. But if you have the space for it, it is very accurate and actually fun.

Titanfall was obviously rushed (probably by EA) no leaderboards, no private matches, few game modes, sometimes (although uncommon) frame rate drops - I got a really bad one 2 days ago in a 5 way Titan battle (5 or 4) but the frame rate drop lasted for like 15 seconds and was horrible Lol

Awesome game still ;) they should of just gave them atleast another 2 months, would of gave PVZ a little time to sell more too and given more polishing for Titanfall, we probably even would of gotten splitscreen =( Loll

The death of splitscreen is horrible imo. I enjoy playing online, but playing locally with a friend is just a lot funner. I'm low on money so it sadly wouldn't have made a difference, but splitscreen would have pushed me to get the XBONE bundle verse the pc game.

Actually I probably would have waited for just the 360 version.

@thread

Seeing the bundles drop to $450 is really nice. IMO it shows Microsoft is willing to do what it takes to right the ship, unlike Nintendo last year with the Wii U. I think it's a good sign that this E3 will also be incredible. Only about 80 days!
