For those who haven't seen it, Mark Cerny gave an awesome presentation at GameLab 2013 on "The Road to PS4". Mark talks about how he forged a career in video games and how that evolution led him to Sony and how his relationships with Shu Yoshida and Andrew House formed. I just thought this was a very interesting insight into the evolution of PlayStation and the philosophies adopted along the way. Knowing Mark Cerny was at the helm of PS4 and hearing him speak about how they arrived to this point gives me a lot of faith in the console.
Recommended watch for anyone who loves video games.
The assertion that "time to triangle" is approaching PS1 levels again is astounding, and I especially like how he describes their evolving thinking on third parties. You even get a lot of insight into the infancy and growth of Naughty Dog.
Posting this to mostly hear other people's take on the video and prompt discussion on some of this history of PlayStation and the design choices for PlayStation 4.
