Forums - Gaming - Fanboys suffer from low self esteem! It's proven by science. Suck it!

I'd believe it.

Granted, I'm often depressed when my favorite sports teams aren't performing well. And when my favorite musicians are routinely ignored.

But, ultimately, that is what makes every victory, radio airplay, and successful game seem so wonderful to me.

The video only barely addresses the people who go on the attack (addressed by the random gamer comments). Those are the bigger problem as it's usually them who initiate the mudslinging. They certainly have the lowest self-esteem of all, because they have a desire to put other things down to feel better about their choice. The same people are also more prone to fall for bullshit marketing along the lines of "gaming is a lifestyle", or for a recent and concrete example, "by gamers, for gamers". Gamers definitely didn't demand to pay extra for basic functionality like online multiplayer, so that's where everyone should realize that it's nothing more than a deceiving marketing line.

This thread title can't be more true. Sony knows this and knows how to exploit this mindset to a T.
