Well, the "rumored" bug in Windows 10 that affects Ryzen has gotten a little more real:

Microsoft Windows Bug Is Holding Back AMD Ryzen
http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/microsoft-confirms-windows-bug-is-holding-back-amd-ryzen.html
In nothing more then a tweet Microsoft seems to have confirmed the existence of this issue. So basically each core gets an extra simulated thread, that is SMT (simultaneous multi-threading) or what Intel refers to as hyper-threading. A real core obviously is stronger compared to a virtual threaded one. Aka we are back to thread-scheduler bugs. Things remain a bit trivial we feel, when we disabled SMT in the BIOS (and just ran 8-threads) performance only increased marginally on some titles, with an exception for some. But who knows, titles like Rise of the Tomb Raider (which is hit the most) might benefit from properly threaded processors big-time.

"Thumping skeletons with a hammer never gets old," we said, which is good, because today developer Haemimont Games announced that the Fractured Worlds expansion, and also that Motorhead DLC from a couple of years ago, will be out this spring.

^That's a weird bug. Honestly, unless it messes with voltages, putting the chip (and the whole PC) in danger, I would leave it and call it a feature .

I went to Tencent HQ in China this week and got the chance to see some of their projects. I'm surprised how much better the MMO games are over there. Not only they have their own server for some of the most popular MMOs out there, their in-house developer also make some amazing AAA MMOs. Who wouldv thought Monster Hunter MMO was made by a chinese company?

Except. It is not representative of real world performance. :P

If you notice some benchmarks are artificially inflated, then this explains why, unless there a more bugs we are yet to discover. Ha.

Yeah, it's amazing how popular are MMOs in tha area (China, Korea). And, unlike western MMOs, they don't skimp on graphics for those with low-end graphic cards.

I know, I know.

But it's weird, and worrisome, how many bugs does Win10 have with Ryzen, specially considering that this is the only OS officially supported by the new processors.

Either MSoft and AMD haven't worked hard enough before launch to solve them, or MSoft didn't give it enough importance (because it's AMD, and who buys AMD CPUs?).

It will take years for a real 4K/60fps card because newer games will keep pushing the bar further and further away.

But it's true that if Volta manages to do what Maxwell and Pascal did in the high end, a 2080Ti could be that card for a while.

Volta Titan would do it first. And that's why I'll be getting x 2! :p

You're getting 2 for work, you're not fooling anyone.

Otherwise, why would you get two, if you say that one would be enough to achieve it?

Microsoft typically does patches on a monthly schedule, so it probably just wasn't ready for prime time yet.

AMD has finite resources sadly, being limited financially.

Or Multi-Monitor.

We know that CGI doesn't play games on his PC though. He only uses it to take pictures of games. :P

I used my off time to fix up my PC a bit.

I finally found a good price for a Samsung 960 Pro 512GB and instantly got it. Finally the days of long loading times are over.

I also replaced my really old 5400RPM 2TB drive with a shiny new 7200RMP 8TB drive.

And to top it off I got myself a new mouse with more than 2 DPI. I haven't tried it yet in games but I hope the stutter will stop now.
