And correctly if I'm wrong, but were'nt you going to buy the monitor last year? I think it was you who was worried when it was discovered that Nvidia had a power consumption problem with fast panels.

In any case, and with all due respect as it's you who have to pay and use the monitor, I'd hold my purchase an extra month or two to save a bit more money for an IPS 144Hz monitor. Best of both worlds.

I was indeedy but Scan had put it on pre-order for nearly 2 months and apparently it;s no longer listed on their site which suggests to me that a 2 year old monitor was compeltely sold out on their end and they somehow decided to stop stocking it. Novatech has since replaced them as the cheapest seller according to Nvidias website.

IPS 144hz?, what's the best part about it?. I'm wondering because I really want good co-ordinated Vsync and my current options are full screen window borderless mode or no Vsync which means screen tearing since most Vsync options for my games or using NCP involve a lot of bad stuttering which is why I originally wanted Gsync, does getting an IPS solve all of this?, I don't want to splurge and find I;m stuck with the same major issue that's been plaguing me for nearly 2 years now.

IPS is a kind of panel tech. There are basically three kinds of panels: TN, IPS and VA. IPS has the advantage of better colours, wider palette and better viewing angles.

I know of Freesync monitors with IPS screens (tho they are 1440p), so I'd say that there has to be some G-Sync ones too.

Would the Gsync ones be within at least the £500 range and not 800+?.

I mean I would go for one if they didn't cost a load and provided me with an experience that doesn't involve me having screen tearing or laggy Vsync only issues. With this BenQ I'm currently sporting I cannot seem to play new titles with Nvidias Vsync without getting a load of stutters or turning it off giving me tearing, FSBWM seems to kill most of those issues with games like Battlefront and older titles with Vsync not really giving me any issues (Recent Dragon's Dogma port with Vsync works perfectly with hardly any dips and no stuttering). I just don't want to buy a really expensive monitor to find that it doesn't support my spec or gives me stuttering issues.

I'll have to look at it to give you an honest answer (it's not my market) but after doing a quick search, I doubt it.

Finding a 144Hz IPS screen is hard enough and the G-Sync tech adds some more. I don't even know if £600 would be enough.

Second reply to your post.

After a bit of searching, I've only found one monitor below £600, the 27" and 1440p Acer XB270HU.

TALES OF SYMPHONIA IS NOW ON STEAM

http://www.pcgamer.com/tales-of-symphonia-is-now-on-steam/

Tales of Symphonia, the second single player game in the series to hit PC after last year's Tales of Zesteria, is now live on Steam. Originally released on GameCube in 2003, the PC version is based on a PS3 port released in 2014 – so it should look pretty decent, though I've not had the chance to check it out.

>>But...

Tales of Symphonia has just been released on the PC and… it’s a mess. According to various reports, the game’s internal resolution is locked at 720p and its framerate is locked at 30fps. Moreover, there are lots of typos in the PC version; typos that weren’t present in the PS3 version (from which the PC version was ported).

THE WITNESS SPEED RUN FINISHES THE GAME IN JUST OVER 25 MINUTES

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witness-speed-run-finishes-the-game-in-just-over-25-minutes/

I haven't played The Witness yet, but nearly everyone else at PC Gamer has. It's notoriously tricky, so it's a surprise to see impressive speed runs trickling through already. The current record is held by speedrunner Azorae, who has managed to complete the game in 25 minutes and 53 seconds. Contrast that with the work of fellow PC Gamer scribe Chris Livingston, who (in his own words) "spent 23 minutes driving a boat back and forth past a rock I thought had something to do with something, but didn't."

THE WITNESS PATCH WILL (HOPEFULLY) FIX MOTION SICKNESS PROBLEMS

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witness-patch-will-hopefully-fix-motion-sickness-problems/

The Witness is a heck of a good puzzle game, and apparently selling quite well, which is good news for the creative future of Jonathan Blow. But it's making some people sick, too: Not in the sense of a “Wow, I can't believe I spent 40 bucks on this 3D Sudoku thing” jag of buyer's remorse, but actually feeling physically ill as the result of motion sickness.

We know a bit about the two new operators, but we only know these details due to a series of leaks. BATTALION 1944 SEEKS FUNDING TO RETURN THE FPS TO WW2

http://www.pcgamer.com/battalion-1944-seeks-funding-to-return-the-fps-to-ww2/

Doing things on a shoestring, going back to basics, taking on a challenge with spunk, skill and a dash of new tech—that's the traditional telling of the British war effort, so it's fitting that a team from Derby, UK, is stripping down the FPS and taking it back to 1944. Bulkhead Interactive is seeking £100,000 to complete Battalion 1944, a throwback to Medal of Honor and Call of Duty 2.

I got the 3.5gb patch for Grey Goo last night. Might give it a shot and see what it's all about.

Also I dunno about that monitor, I'll save it for the future but I'm just set on the AOC for the time being. I'll likely save it for when I get a new build which should be next year hopefully.

Just a head's up, they have updated the article with the 980 and a 4GB 960, so I'm sure they'll add more in the coming days.

Oh, if anyone has a 960... don't try to play it on max, it only runs at 18fps!
