That timeline is actually sad, not only because of how long their new games take to develop, but because of all the other good IPs that they've left behind to focus only on GTA and RDR... and judging by how quickly they ditched RDR2 and RDR Online despite how well it sold, it wouldn't surprise me if they only make GTA games from now on.

By the way, that list misses Lemmings. It's weird to think that that game and GTA are the creation of the same people.

Over time I started to realise that they ended up ditching RDR2 because T2 themselves had set expectations for it, as in they wanted it to sell on the level of GTA V, online and all, and because it didn't match 1-1 with GTA V, they just decided "eh good enough" and left it to rot (which is a live service way of thinking).

I wouldn't be so quick to point the accusing finger to T2. Rockstar themselves may have take that decision because if it's not big enough, they may aswell move on to something that is really big.

Not that we'll ever know why it happened.

Windows 11 23H2 update reportedly slows down gaming performance for some but there does seem to be a somewhat complicated fix
https://www.pcgamer.com/windows-11-23h2-update-reportedly-slows-down-gaming-performance-for-some-but-there-does-seem-to-be-a-somewhat-complicated-fix/
Windows 11's 23H2 update has been out for a little while now, but some users have reported a noticeable drop in gaming performance since installation, which seems somewhat fitting for an update released on Halloween. If you've yet to install it, the good news is that Microsoft has currently placed the update on compatibility hold for a different issue which hopefully means both problems might be fixed by the time it becomes available again.
For those of you experiencing this issue and don't want to rollback to a previous version however, there is a supposed fix. The bad news is, it's a little complicated.
>> For an OS that was suposed to be great for gaming, Win 12 has had a ton of problems messing with them.

The Friday news, part two:

Batman: Arkham Trilogy pays tribute to the late Kevin Conroy
https://www.pcgamer.com/batman-arkham-trilogy-pays-tribute-to-the-late-kevin-conroy/
For a lot of people, including myself, Kevin Conroy was the Batman. A lot of you might've known him from the Arkham Trilogy—I myself was first introduced to him via Justice League: Unlimited. He was the voice of Batman for over three decades before he died after a short battle with cancer in November last year, age 66.
As spotted by Eurogamer, a tribute has been added to the Batman: Arkham Trilogy, though it's only presently confirmed to be on the Nintendo Switch version. Gamingbible editor Ewan Moore posted a screenshot of the tribute on Twitter, which reads: "In memory of Kevin Conroy."

Following 3 years of radio silence, Kingpin remaster releases only to get slammed: 'Is it too late to hand this over to Nightdive?'
https://www.pcgamer.com/following-3-years-of-radio-silence-kingpin-remaster-releases-only-to-get-slammed-is-it-too-late-to-hand-this-over-to-nightdive/
I have strangely fond memories of Kingpin: Life of Crime, a 1999, vaguely dieselpunk-y FPS that I played far, far too young. It was ultraviolent, ultra-sweary, and had a light smattering of RPG elements that made it feel very novel to me back when I played it. I was pretty excited, then, when 3D Realms announced a remaster called Kingpin: Reloaded in 2020.
After three years—including a long period where it felt like the project had dropped off the face of the Earth—that remaster finally released last Monday and, well, oh no. Buyers of the game on Steam have not responded well to the game, which currently sits at a 30% "Mostly Negative" score on the platform's user review system. From the sounds of it, it's another case of a remaster releasing before it's fully baked, much like what happened with The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition earlier this year.

Lego Fortnite is way bigger than we thought, and millions of people are playing the new survival mode
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnites-lego-survival-mode-is-way-bigger-than-we-thought-and-millions-of-people-are-playing-it/
Fortnite is constantly doing crossovers, so the announcement that Epic had teamed up with Lego for a new survival mode glanced off my consciousness like the announcement of a new line of Funko Pops. But we just tried the mode, which has already attracted over two million concurrent players after launching today, and it's way bigger and more fun than we anticipated—and, of course, free.

The Alone in the Dark reboot is delayed until March so developers can 'avoid any potential crunch over the Christmas holidays'
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-alone-in-the-dark-reboot-is-delayed-until-march-so-developers-can-avoid-any-potential-crunch-over-the-christmas-holidays/
THQ Nordic's Alone in the Dark reboot has been delayed, and is now set to come out on March 20, 2024. The decision to push the game back was made, the publisher said, because if it had gone ahead with the planned release in January, "the Christmas season would have been filled with stress and anything but a jolly time" for developer Pieces Interactive.

The Walking Dead: Betrayal halts development and will be pulled from Steam just three months after launch
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-walking-dead-betrayal-halts-development-and-will-be-pulled-from-steam-just-three-months-after-launch/
The Walking Dead: Betrayal, a social deception-survival game about zombies and worse (the "worse" in this case being non-zombified other people), is coming to a premature end. Skybound Games and developer Other Ocean Interactive announced today that it has decided to halt development of the game, which just launched in early access in September, and remove it from Steam completely.

This great settlement-building survival RPG just became a 4-player co-op game
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-great-settlement-building-survival-rpg-just-became-a-4-player-co-op-game/
Medieval Dynasty may have spent a couple of years in early access on Steam before launching its 1.0 version in 2021—but that doesn't mean the settlement building survival RPG is done adding new features. Not by a long shot.
Here's some excellent news if you've always dreamt of planning, building, and managing a medieval village with your friends: the long-awaited co-op update has arrived for Medieval Dynasty. A new map named Oxbow has been added, and up two four players can build and manage a settlement together, go hunting and exploring, complete new quests, romance NPCs, and even have snowball fights.

This dystopian anime action RPG has the potential to be another Genshin Impact
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-dystopian-anime-action-rpg-has-the-potential-to-be-another-genshin-impact/
Before Genshin Impact exploded in popularity, developer MiHoYo was largely seen as a mobile game studio. Now, Genshin is one of the biggest action RPGs around, competing directly with games only available on PC or consoles. Gryphline, the Chinese developer of popular mobile strategy game Arknights, is about to attempt the same transformation with a spin-off RPG called Arknights: Endfield.

Thrasher is another gorgeous and nauseating rhythm game from the creator of Thumper
https://www.pcgamer.com/thrasher-is-another-gorgeous-and-nauseating-rhythm-game-from-the-creator-of-thumper/

https://www.pcgamer.com/holy-balls-after-15-years-theyre-actually-making-world-of-goo-2-and-its-coming-next-year/
I loved World of Goo when it came out way back in 2008, and I've always thought it was too bad they never made another one. So it was really great to hear at The Game Awards tonight that finally, they are.

https://www.pcgamer.com/explore-the-gruesome-crimes-of-a-sadistic-killer-in-the-dead-by-daylight-singleplayer-game-the-casting-of-frank-stone-coming-in-2024/

Tonight at The Game Awards, that game was formally unveiled as The Casting of Frank Stone, a narrative-focused game that promises "an unprecedented look at the wider world of Dead by Daylight."

Matthew McConaughey took the stage at The Game Awards to premier an RPG from ex-BioWare vets that sounds like a Mass Effect: Andromeda do-over

As the Greater Chicagoland Area's number one Matthew McConaughey fan and one of its notable BioWare-likers, having him pop up at The Game Awards to announce he'd appear in a new RPG from some BioWare old hands feels tailor-made to make me freak out. The True Detective actor will have an unspecified role in Exodus, the debut game from Archetype Entertainment.

Controversial SWAT team FPS Ready or Not announces a December release date, promising 'an intense gaming experience, that challenges you on the world you know'
https://www.pcgamer.com/controversial-swat-team-fps-ready-or-not-announces-a-december-release-date-promising-an-intense-gaming-experience-that-challenges-you-on-the-world-you-know/

The full version promises to have the complete "Commander Mode" singleplayer campaign, with new missions and overhauled versions of the currently available ones—18 in total, which can be played alone or in co-op with up to five players—as well as a suite of extra customizations and quality-of-life improvements.

I know you were expecting a third part of the news, and here it is:

Life is Strange team announces Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, a '90s teen drama with 27 years of trauma baked in
https://www.pcgamer.com/life-is-strange-team-announces-lost-records-bloom-and-rage-a-90s-teen-drama-with-27-years-of-trauma-baked-in/
Don't Nod announced its next adventure game at The Game Awards tonight, which is called Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. The debut trailer teased a story of four '90s teens who discover some weird alien (magical?) stuff in the woods, and a meeting they have 27 years in the future.

Den of Wolves is a 'mind-f***' heist game from the Payday designer set in a sci-fi city 'where late-stage capitalism has gone rampant'
https://www.pcgamer.com/den-of-wolves-preview-game-awards/
The Den of Wolves trailer at The Game Awards first announces that we're looking at a new game from from the creator of Payday: The Heist and Payday 2, but then goes on to show something that has very little resemblance to a bank robbery: a pair of men growling at each other in a sci-fi dungeon that could've appeared in Cyberpunk 2077. So, what the heck is this game?

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt studio Sharkmob reveals a new 'tactical open world extraction shooter' at The Game Awards
https://www.pcgamer.com/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodhunt-studio-sharkmob-reveals-a-new-tactical-open-world-extraction-shooter-at-the-game-awards/
Sharkmob, the developer of the World of Darkness battle royale Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, unveiled its new game tonight at The Game Awards: Exoborne, a "tactical open-world extraction shooter" set in a devastated near-future world where the remnants of humanity use powerful "Exo-rigs" to survive, scavenge, and—of course—shoot at each other.

'We didn't set out to recruit a Hollywood cast': Marvel star Simu Liu's love of StarCraft led to a big role in upcoming RTS Stormgate
https://www.pcgamer.com/we-didnt-set-out-to-recruit-a-hollywood-cast-marvel-star-simu-lius-love-of-starcraft-led-to-a-big-role-in-upcoming-rts-stormgate/
Stormgate is an upcoming real-time strategy game from a company with a great RTS development pedigree going back to StarCraft, but not one you'd necessarily expect to attract big Hollywood actors. Sometimes, though, big Hollywood actors happen to be huge StarCraft fans.
At The Game Awards tonight, Marvel star Simu Liu added a Hollywood twist to Stormgate when he appeared on stage to introduce a new trailer; Liu is voicing a major character in the RTS. The trailer also revealed that Stormgate, which went into closed beta this week, will hit early access this summer.

The Finals just surprised launched at The Game Awards with a new map and battle pass
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-finals-just-surprised-launched-at-the-game-awards-with-a-new-map-and-battle-pass/
When Geoff Keighley takes the stage for The Game Awards, it's expected that there might be a new game releasing before the end of the night. This year, that game is The Finals, the highly-destructible FPS from ex-DICE folk that attracted hundreds of thousands of players to its open beta last month.
Season 1 of The Finals begins now. On top of the maps and modes that were in the open beta, launch day adds a new map set in Las Vegas, a few new tools, and a full Season 1 battle pass. The light class has two new loadout options: throwing knives that serve as your primary weapon and a "vanishing bomb" gadget that I envision working like a ninja smoke bomb that grants temporary invisibility.

The Game Awards 2023 results: All the winners

Baldur's Gate 3 racked up six awards at The Game Awards today, including Game of the Year, a win Larian founder Swen Vincke tells PC Gamer he didn't expect, even after leaving the recent Golden Joystick Awards with too many awards to carry.

Cyberpunk 2077 completes its redemption arc by nabbing its first Game Award three whole years after launch
https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-completes-its-redemption-arc-by-nabbing-its-first-game-award-three-whole-years-after-launch/
Three years on from a legendarily catastrophic launch that jeopardized CD Projekt Red's once-sterling reputation, Cyberpunk 2077 has completely turned it around. After failing to nab a Game Award for its initial launch (eligible at the 2021 TGA), Cyberpunk took home an award for Best Ongoing Game at this year's show.

Developers blast the celeb-laden Game Awards as 'an embarrassing indictment of a segment of the industry desperate for validation… with little respect for the devs'

The Game Awards have been and gone, turning the PC Gamer homepage into something like the deranged Instagram feed of someone obsessed with Sam Lake and Swen Vincke, but it's left plenty to discuss—and criticise—in its wake.
In particular, the show has come under fire for the short time allotted to acceptance speeches and celebrations of nominated games, with some devs rankling at celebrities getting seemingly limitless time to ramble while game makers were told to "Please wrap it up" after barely half a minute.

And these are the weekend deals at GOG and Steam:

+GOG

+Steam

And that's it. I hope I didn't forget anything. If that's the case, I'll add it Monday. Until then, I wish you a happy and gaming weekend.

400,000 for the entire year isn't a lot but considering they are going up against Nvidia/Apple, it's not like they have much of a choice

Well, I don't know if 400k is a lot or not, but I'm sure those beasts aren't cheap. If AMD manages to sell all of them then they'll make a ton of money.

Please excuse my bad English.

Well for reference, Nvidia sells around 500,000 H100s in a single quarter. But yea, AMD will still make money regardless

I read that the MI300 is better than the H100.

MI300X is faster but only by around 20% during non vram limited scenarios according to AMDs own numbers and they also didn't use TensorRT with H100s when they did their benchmark runs. Of course Nvidia has H200s coming out Q2 of next year and B100s eventually.
