Damn I wish Nvidia would pick up some of their slack, then again they are too comfortable as things are with the marketshare and I'm not fond of GFE being forced to get those driver updates either.

Also bummed about Mankind Divided being delayed for 5 more months, something tells me it's going to be bad in terms of either the game or the port, I can just feel it if they need 5 whole extra months to "polish" the game.

I really hope Blizzard give me that Overwatch Beta invite, I need that game in my veins.

I wouldn't worry about Nvidia. The 2x Perf/Watt figure comes just from the new process node alone, and to that figure you'll have to add the improvements that the new architecture will bring. Of course, with Pascal Nvidia will pay attention to the DP performance that they left aside in Maxwell (they traded DP for those cards to make use of the extra space to improve the gaming performance), so part of those improvements won't be noticeable in gaming, so that 2x perf/W may be true after all.

And then, there's die space. The GTX 680 (Nvidia's first 28nm card) was a 294mm² chip, much smaller than your 398mm2 GTX 980 and ridiculously tiny compared to the 601mm2 of the Titan X/980Ti (For comparison, AMD's first 28nm was 365mm2 and Fiji is 596mm2). And yet, even thought the 1080 will also be a "small" chip, it will outperform at least the 980 by some margin.

After all, remember that the first 28nm card launched in 2011 and we won't have the first one at 16nm until 2016, five years later. We don't know how long it will take for the next node jump, so neither Nvidia nor AMD want (and honestly can't) push it to the max just from the get go.

About the delay of the next Deus Ex... well, nowadays a game that's not delayed is an oddity . I wouldn't worry, yet.

AMD's R9 380X review round up:

Nice that thanks to being well positioned in the market, finding its own place for price and performances, it can help AMD staying afloat, despite not being that big improvement AMD made us hope, but I'm waiting for AMD to switch to 14nm, I want far lower power consumption, and, for CPUs and APUs, DDR4 support.

Just finished the main campaign for Bioshock Infinite.

Really really love this game!

Now to play the DLC :)

I found the DLC's underwhelming and only was able to complete the first one.

The first one has no combat right? Was that the reason you didnt like it? How was the story :o?

Episode one has combat, I believe it was epsiode two that did not (I only got an hour in and it was mostly stealth).   Even Episode one wasn't that great it felt like a stripped down weaker version of BIoschock.  I got through it but by the time the second one rolled around wasn't a fan.

Yeah, the 380X barely surpasses the old 280X :-/.

Btw, the other day I found this pic comparing the different 14/16 nm processes, although I'm not 100% sure if its true or not

TSMC is kind of cheating with it's 16 nm process (even after including the FinFet part of it), don't you think? And it also shows why Intel's chips are so power efficient.

FALLOUT 4 SURPASSES 2 MILLION SOLD COPIES ON STEAM

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/fallout-4-surpasses-2-million-sold-copies-on-steam/

Fallout 4 has been out for around ten days and according to Steamspy’s stats, the game has sold two million copies on Steam. These are great numbers, no doubt about that, and it will be interesting to see how long will it take to top GTA V, GTA IV or Fallout: New Vegas (as those are the most successful open-world games on Steam IIRC).

STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT DRM LIMITS INSTALL TO 5 HARDWARE CHANGES

http://www.gamersnexus.net/news/2192-star-wars-battlefront-drm-limitation

During CPU and GPU benchmarking for Star Wars Battlefront, a DICE game published by EA, we encountered an additional layer of DRM beyond the EA Origin requirement. Steam, Origin, uPlay, and other proprietary game distribution applications utilize various means of digital rights management, often tied to online user accounts in the modern day, but some games go further.

>>So now EA takes notes from Ubisoft? The world is going to hell.

DDR4 support from AMD would give them a nice edge.

I've yet to see all the reviews for the port report on Syndicate, though I'm mostly waiting on TB to tear it a new one.

Fuck that Battlefront DRM to hell, I was going to wait for that to go down in price but now I don't think I even want it until they revise and do away with it because EA should know PC gamers are always going to change their hardware, forcing us to stick with our hardware is what consoles are for, not PC's.

Kinda meh on the W 10 statement since I'm not upgrading to 10 anytime soon if at all, I'm banking on staying with 7 until Steam OS gets better and going with that OS and Vulkan instead.
