You know it's sad that back in the old days, when they couldn't slap everything into the cart or the disc, that was a legit excuse due to storage space, but these days games have all sorts of shit cut from the games and sold to us as "extra".

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Why doesn't the box art show, how much Video-RAM the GPU has?

Ain't that usually one of the most advertized features printed in big letters on the box?
Especially for GPUs with plenty of VRAM.

Idk, it could be cut off

Supposedly, some people managed to read the Key Features info from the Zotac 4090 boxart:

Obviously the XXX parts are unreadable to them but the biggest disappointment is that Lovelace looks to be using DisplayPort 1.4a still if it's legit. That would be a huge bummer as new monitors and such in the coming years will be using Display Port 2.0. While 4k 240hz is entirely possible to do with DisplayPort 1.4a with DSC, we don't know if DP2.0 monitors will be backwards compatible with DP1.4 with DSC. But even if they are, DP2.0 may have some additional features that DP1.4a won't have so we will see.

Interesting. You focused on the Display Port while the PCIE Gen 4 part is what caught my eye, specially after talking last week about that rumor that said that the 4060 and lower parts would get x8 PCIe Gen5 lanes.

Nah they are all rumoured to use PCI-E 4.0 including the ones from last week. Only RDNA 3 is rumoured to use PCI-E 5.0 which imo, isn't a good thing since as you go down to the more budget lineups, having less lanes + next gen pci-e = worse performance for people with older generation CPUs.

I see, then.

Well, as long as thoe cards have enough VRAM, it shouldn't be a problem unless they do something stupid like making them x4.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim gets a Legacy of Kain-inspired DLC-sized Mod
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-gets-a-legacy-of-kain-inspired-dlc-sized-mod/
Turelim Vampire has released an amazing Legacy of Kain-inspired DLC-sized fan expansion mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. And since we’re not getting a new Legacy of Kain game anytime soon, I’m certain that its fans will appreciate it.
Freeport Island features a recreation of the map ‘Freeport’ from the PVP LOK game Nosgoth along with various ruined forts, temples and crypts to explore which are all inspired by Blood Omen, Soul Reaver, and Nosgoth. Furthermore, this fan expansion has 13 quests, and enemies from Nosgoth and Blood Omen. Players can also find weapons from Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2 and Soul Reaver and a few new spells.
Contrary to other mods, this one is for both the Legacy Edition and the Special Edition.

Nuclear flamingos and deep-fried elephants invade Fallout 4's Nuka World
https://www.pcgamer.com/nuclear-flamingos-and-deep-fried-elephants-invade-fallout-4s-nuka-world/
Grab the biggest shotgun you can find because there's a new reason to revisit Bethesda's final expansion for Fallout 4. The Mutant Menagerie—Nuclear Safari mod populates Nuka World with lots of new animals and creatures to hunt including giraffes, flamingos, zebras, and best of all, elephants.
Granted, these animals are all gross and mutated—the flamingos have a few extra eyes and the elephants in particular look like they'd been deep fried in orange juice—but that sort of thing tends to happen when a bunch of nukes get dropped on the world.

This mod adds the gloriously chunky PS1 Spider-Man outfits to new game
https://www.pcgamer.com/crafty-mod-adds-glorious-ps1-neversoft-spider-man-to-heros-latest-outing/
Modder low_res_jpg over on NexusMods has put together a delightful treat for fans of Neversoft's classic PS1 (and Dreamcast and PC and N64) Spider-Man game. The new mod adds 11 low-poly classic Spidey suits in all their chunky, turn of the millennium glory.
Spidey's gotten a ton of videogame adaptations over the years, but Neversoft's 2000 entry was special—and that's not just the residual magic of finding it under the tree on December 25, 2000 talking. Neversoft's game was the web slinger's first time in full 3D, brought to life on the same engine as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. It also remains a rare comic book adaptation alongside the likes of 2005's Ultimate Spider-Man—even the independent setting of Insomniac's game has a real movie vibe to it.

Tuesday news, part two:

Ubisoft finally realises everyone hates NFTs, says it's just 'researching', honest
https://www.pcgamer.com/ubisoft-finally-realises-everyone-hates-nfts-says-its-just-researching-honest/
Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft's long-reigning CEO, has spoken about the company's future plans for blockchain integration in its games, its history with blockchain tech, and the communications blunders the company has made around the topic in the past.
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Guillemot made several comments that suggest Ubisoft's love affair with NFTs has reached a cooling-off period. Ubisoft is "looking at all the Web3 capabilities" in order to find out if they "really answer the players' needs" before pressing ahead with them, said Guillemot. I feel like I can tell you the answer to that one right now, Yves.

Overwatch fans revolt over Blizzard's plan to lock heroes behind battle pass
https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-fans-revolt-over-blizzards-plan-to-lock-heroes-behind-battle-pass/
Overwatch fans are furious that one of the original game's promises will be broken in the upcoming sequel.
For a brief period of time last week—long enough for the internet to take notice—the $40 Watchpoint Pack, which includes access to Overwatch 2's season one battle pass, exclusive skins, and a heap of the game's new in-game currency, included a line that said premium battle pass owners "automatically receive access to Overwatch's latest hero Kiriko!"

A new browser-in-the-browser attack threatens Steam users
https://www.pcgamer.com/a-new-browser-in-the-browser-attack-threatens-steam-users/
Those dodgy hackers are at it again, and this is one that gamers in particular need to keep an eye out for as it targets Steam users.
Group-IB (via Bleeping Computer) is reporting that a sophisticated Browser-in-the-Browser phishing technique is snaring Steam users. In particular, competitive and professional gamers are being targeted with fake direct messages on Steam, inviting them to join tournaments. The user will then navigate to a slick looking game tournament platform where they are asked to log in using their Steam credentials and a 2FA code.

Ubisoft wants to stop making games that try to be all things to all people
https://www.pcgamer.com/ubisoft-wants-to-stop-making-games-that-try-to-be-all-things-to-all-people/
Ubisoft must be in a reflective mood. Yesterday the company was (kinda) walking back its once-strident commitment to blockchain integration in games, and now it's decided that maybe not every Assassin's Creed needs to be a sprawling 150-hour epic. I couldn't agree more.

The remake of the XIII remake is out and looks a hundred times better
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-remake-of-the-xiii-remake-is-out-and-looks-a-hundred-times-better/
Originally released in 2003, XIII was a great shooter that, largely thanks to a cel-shaded aesthetic based on a French comic, became a cult classic. In 2019 Microids announced a welcome remake of the game, but then it arrived and… oh. Oh dear. (...) The remake was so bad, in fact, that in June this year Microids announced a remake of the remake, with a new studio (Tower Five) behind it. And now this re-remake has arrived, replacing the original remake on Steam and appearing as a free download for all existing owners of the game.
