Crypto Price Crash: Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, Solana, Cardano And XRP Suddenly In Freefall

It's been down for almost a month now and isn't recovering yet.. Do we see the sparkle of light at the end of the tunnel?

This is promising. While a 3070Ti equivalent might now quite the top end or flagship.. if priced right and Intel have ample supply at launch. This could be a the GPU people have been looking for. Assuming scalpers/miners don't sweep them up.

Tbh we might be at the end of the tunnel for Bitcoin. With many countries banning Crypto currency and Russia looking like its going to follow.. We just need the other big player like US to abolish it and its gg. Hopefully it dies out this year though as the tech coming up (GPU wide) is definitely to look out for.

[Rumor] In other news Insider/leaker Greymon55 states there's going to be a RX 6000 refresh coming up from AMD. No RDNA 3 until late 2022 or even 2023?

Probably not even if the 3080's somehow drop to $1000 in 6 months time it's still a massive premium over MSRP and by then the 4080's will be on the verge of launching and Nvidia will likely bump up the price and list them at $900-1000 MSRP before AIB's add another few hundred on top knowing people are desperate for new GPU's and the GPU market will be just as terrible.

I wish I could be more optimistic about the 4000 series but I just can't bring myself to be.

Yea it will be interesting to see. If Bitcoin and etc actually does go back down to reasonable levels and Eth switches to staking, then we may see the cryto go back to pre-ampere levels. If that happens, then the supply should once again normalize but that would be bad for Intel cause if priced the same, I am sure most people would choose Nvidia any day of the week.

We will see though but if Intel messes up this opportunity, it would be the biggest facepalm we have seen in a while.

Yea I am sure the price is gonna be pretty high but they generally don't make pricing decisions until closer to launch. So if they see the market stabilizing, while I am sure the price will still be higher than Ampere launch, it might not be too bad. And considering the rumours of GPU performance from Lovelace/RDNA 3 supposed to be insane where even a 4070 should be able to beat a 3090. Many people could get away with getting a "lower tier" gpu. But we will see though.

Personally I'll be aiming for the 4090 assuming the price is less than $2000 USD.

Game developers aren't interested in NFTs and cryptocurrency, report suggests
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2022-01-21-game-developers-arent-interested-in-nfts-and-cryptocurrency
Game developers aren't interested in NFTs and cryptocurrency, according to the latest GDC State Of The Game Industry report. NFTs have already proven divisive in the industry with many big studios leaning into the technology despite criticism from players. However, 70 percent of developers asked for this survey were not interested in NFTs. Meanwhile, 72 percent were not interested in cryptocurrency as a payment tool.

Original plan for Assassin's Creed series was for it all to end on a spaceship
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2022-01-21-original-plan-for-assassins-creed-series-was-for-it-all-to-end-on-a-spaceship
The original plan for Assassin's Creed - back when the whole franchise was planned as a trilogy - would have seen series hero Desmond blasting off on a spaceship.

Not really PC related or videogame related, but I wanted to share this new height of NFT stupidity with you guys.

NFT group buys rare Dune book, believes it gives them IP rights
https://stealthoptional.com/news/nft-group-rare-dune-book/
Over the weekend, a crypto enthusiast group managed to win an auction for a rare 1975 Dune book created by Alejandro Jodorowsky as part of a failed film pitch. The book was expected to be sold for around €25,000. However, the NFT group ramped up the auction to buy the book for €2.66 million; the equivalent of $3.04 million.
>>Yes they bought a book thinking it gives them ownership of the copyright. They also plan to scan the pages, turn them into NFTs and then burn the book to drive up the price of the NFTs.

1) Developers aren't interested in NFTs, but publishers are, and they are the ones that decide what developers will do.

2) Ok, that would have been a great ending. Too bad it couldn't happen.

3) Yeah, read it the other day. So stupid. Servers them right.

Nvidia is so confident with the 3050 that it even claims that it's faster than other cards with ray tracing enabled... because the other cards used for the comparison can't do RT: https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-happily-confirms-rtx-3050-is-faster-with-raytracing-on-than-gpus-without-raytracing-support

And have our prayers been listened and the whole crypto scene is falling apart (if only temporarily)? Let's hope so, and that many scalpers lose lots of money as well.

Seems the Hitman 3 Steam launch isn't going too well.

Hitman 3 is Being Review Bombed on Steam
https://gamerant.com/hitman-3-steam-review-bombed/
Hitman 3 officially came out a year ago on January 20, 2021, but the PC version was only released on the Epic Games Store. As a result of this deal, Hitman 3 launched on Steam a year later on January 20, 2022, marking the end of the exclusivity period.

Hitman subreddit temporarily closes following Hitman 3 Steam launch
https://www.pcgamesn.com/hitman-3/subreddit
Hitman 3 finally came to Steam this week, though it isn’t going down well with certain groups of fans. We’ve seen players air frustrations over pricing and the VR implementation on social media, with the subreddit even closing down temporarily as a result.

They knew what they were agreeing to when they signed that deal with Epic. Now they have to face the consequences.

No delay so far for RDNA3. Probably it's just AMD trying to counter the new Ti cards and, since RDNA2 is bandwitch starved, the memory bump could bring some benefits.

Ray Tracing and DLSS since neither the 1650 /1050 have Tensor Cores either. Of course, it wouldn't have taken AMD much to be competitive against the 3050 but instead, they chose the eviler villain route. Come on Intel, release the goods for a good price please...

Hopefully the cryto market doesn't do a 180 like it did back last summer when it last crashed. But as more countries as banned/regulating it, least for now, it sounds like the storm will be dying down... Least until we see the mining performance of Lovelace/RDNA 3

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 is not good for Ethereum mining

https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3050-is-not-good-for-ethereum-mining

Sid Meier’s classic flight simulators are now on Steam

As for Meier’s games, you can now pick up both Solo Flight and F-15 Strike Eagle. Solo Flight was released in 1983, in the very earliest days of PC flight simulators. F-15 Strike Eagle was released in 1984, and spiced up the whole ‘flying around’ thing with combat missions.

>>They can only always re-release Skyrim a couple more times.

Nvidia has cracked the code...

That's right! Nvidia's Geforce Now Cloud Streaming Service has Lower input latency with games that have Nvidia Reflex integration than a Xbox Series X running locally! Now at 120fps, the Series X takes the lead once again but the fact that Nvidia's Geforce now can do it when both platforms are at 60fps is insane. And when games don't use Nvidia's Reflex, at 60fps, it's still faster than the Series X:

Say what you will about Nvidia as a company but their engineers are absolutely nuts. And they do this which giving you much higher quality image than the rest of the cloud streaming providers like Stadia and xCloud. Now obviously, this is dependent on server location, your internet speed, if you are on wifi or not and etc. So we obviously still have ways to go. But this is the first step on making Cloud become viable. And for those that don't have a real 3080... Well if you can deal with Series X input lag, you can now use a Geforce now subscription that configures you with a PC with a 3080 for $100 every 6 months. And the best part about Geforce now is that it's linked to your steam Library. So any game you purchase on steam, you can use with Geforce now and any progress you make in Geforce now gets saved on Steam.
