Tearing down Abriss' beautiful brutalist tower blocks never gets old
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/tearing-down-abriss-beautiful-brutalist-tower-blocks-never-gets-old/
From Teardown to Red Faction Guerrilla, I'm a fond fan of games that let you wreak absolutely pummel haphazardly-placed architecture. But rarely have I seen it done with as much style as the demo Randwerk Cooperative's upcoming tower-toppler Abriss.

The launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard will give us a new multiplayer experience that you can read all about here. As we've long expected, it will also bring Call of Duty: Warzone players a brand new map set on an island in the Pacific.

Blizzard removing World of Warcraft references to 'sacks' and 'ho's'

A pair of World of Warcraft achievements are next on the chopping block as Blizzard developers work to remove inappropriate in-game content following California's lawsuit alleging widespread employee harassment and discrimination.

Runescape developer shuts down HD fan mod just before release, sparking in-game protest
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/runelite-hd-shut-down/
Runescape developer Jagex has put an end to Runelite HD, a fan-made HD mod of the popular open-source client for Old School Runescape, just as the project was about to launch last Monday. The 11th-hour move has some Runescape fans decrying Jagex's decision and saying they'll move to other MMOs.

Remember last year's Unreal Engine 5 demo? It's a Fortnite skin now
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/windwalker-echo-fortnite/
Back in May 2020, just as we were all starting to realize this whole Covid thing wasn't going to be a short-term staycation, Epic showed us a first look at its impressive Unreal Engine 5 demo running on a PlayStation 5, giving us a look at what future high-end games might look like. (...)
As viewers, we all got to watch the presentation from the perspective of Echo, a young woman with magic powers. Now rather than just watching her spelunk some caves, you can play as her in Fortnite.

Diablo 2 Resurrected ditched ultrawide support because it breaks the game
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/diablo-2-resurrected-ditched-ultrawide-support-because-it-breaks-the-game/
Games without ultrawide support really annoy players who use ultrawide monitors, so it was nice that the Diablo 2 Resurrected technical alpha supported 21:9 displays. Alas, the game's beta scaled that aspect ratio down to a stingier (though still pretty wide) 19:9. That's about as good as it's going to get too, because according to Blizzard any wider than that breaks the game.

Ubisoft appoints new CCO amidst ongoing reckonings with workplace abuse
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/ubisoft-appoints-new-cco-amidst-ongoing-reckonings-with-workplace-abuse/
Ubisoft is facing an ongoing reckoning about its treatment of employees, which began last year when allegations of workplace abuse led to the departure of several senior executives. (...)
Everything about Ubisoft's corporate leadership is thus seen in this context, as well as in relation to various commitments Ubisoft has made in response to the situation. The company has announced that Igor Manceau, a creative director who's been there for over two decades, is being appointed as its new chief creative officer, a role which reports directly to CEO and co-founder Yves Guillemot and also holds a place on Ubisoft's Executive Committee. Ubisoft's previous chief creative officer, Serge Hascoët, was one of those who left last July.

Why is Hideo Kojima the only dev around who knows how to make a good goddamn trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/why-is-hideo-kojima-the-only-dev-around-who-knows-how-to-make-a-good-goddamn-trailer/
Kojima Productions has released the final trailer for its upcoming Death Stranding: Director's Cut, a game that is currently slated as a PS5 exclusive (Death Stranding was originally supposed to be a PS4 exclusive, then just before release the superb PC version was announced). Hideo Kojima has been banging on about this trailer for months now, going to great pains to point out how involved he was with its production and the importance of editing your own stuff.

Surviving Mars is free to keep on Steam.

Thank you!

I already got it for free at the Epic Store, but now I'll get it as well for Steam, and maybe also the Green Planet expansion.

Gigabyte RTX 3080 Ti with 20GB memory offers up to 98 MH/s in Ethereum mining

https://videocardz.com/newz/gigabyte-rtx-3080-ti-with-20gb-memory-offers-up-to-98-mh-s-in-ethereum-mining

"The 20GB model of RTX 3080 Ti certainly does sound interesting to many enthusiasts, but unfortunately in this case the card only works in cryptomining. It lacks proper drivers (it is unsupported by the official Game Ready driver). The YouTuber actually tried to learn more about the card, such as finding drivers for this model, but Gigabyte Russia has responded that the company does not have such a model."

Ah yes, the ultra rare 20GB versions are off to the mining camps

AMD Instinct MI300 GPU to feature 4 graphics chiplets

Intel claimed to be officially targeting RTX 3070 performance with first Alchemist GPU

https://www.pcgamer.com/intel-claimed-to-be-officially-targeting-rtx-3070-performance-with-first-alchemist-gpu/

I do like the fact they are targeting that range as the low-mid range GPUs are pretty terrible outside of being very lucky and getting a 3060 Ti/3070/6700XT at MSRP.

The Best Value CPU You Probably Can't Buy, AMD Ryzen 3 5300G Review

Suggesting that a quad core CPU that's limited to pci-e gen 3 is the best value CPU you can get when a 6 core 11400 with pci-e gen 4 exists for around the same price (if 5300G had come out on retail) is pretty nonsense. Sure the GPU in the 5300G is better than Intel but both are potatoes but the 11400 would age significantly better once you attach a dGPU. As usual, hardware unboxed and their bias towards AMD continues to produce nonsense videos.

I'll have to agree, unless you're going to use the iGPU of the chip, an 11400 would be a better choice.

Alright, I think it's time to get rid of the Noctua cooler and go with an AIO for my PC.

I recently tried running Cinebench multicore on my PC as me and some of my friends were benchmarking our PCs to see how they perform. While I came in second place mainly cause one of them has a 3090 vs my 3080, I didn't like the fact that when I ran the Cinebench test, the 5950x shot up to 90C and all the cores thermal throttled to 4.4 ghz instead of the usual 4.7/4.8 ghz. While this doesn't happen during gaming... I still don't like the fact that my PC can thermal throttle.

So... Any AIO recommendations?

GN recommended the Arctic Liquid Freezer II a while back not sure if there are any other significant AIO's released since then.

I thought about it but their mounting mechanism with Ryzen is pretty yikes and honestly, the AIO looks kinda ugly.

Yeah its not the prettiest of designs. Heard some good things about EKWB new lineup. Like the EK-AIO Elite 360. Think its has 6 fans in push pull config.

That one does look quite good. I'll add that one to my list.

Thanks!

That EK one looks impressive, but also quite thick with the two rows of fans. You should check if your case has enough room for it. Otherwise, Corsair makes good AIOs, but they're expensive.
