November, when consoles can launch, is still more than 4 months away. They can still launch close to their launch.

Roblox is now the game of choice for over half of all US kids

https://www.pcgamer.com/roblox-is-now-the-game-of-choice-for-over-half-of-all-us-kids/
Roblox Corporation recently told The Verge that over half of kids in the US are now keeping in contact via Roblox. The global COVID-19 pandemic lead to sharp increases in active users throughout both March and April, totalling two thirds of all US children under the age of 16. Since then, the numbers have apparently continued to rise to reach their current all-time high of 120 million players.

Get 11 Daedalic games including Pillars of the Earth in the new Humble Bundle
https://www.pcgamer.com/get-11-daedalic-games-including-pillars-of-the-earth-in-the-new-humble-bundle/
Usually, when it comes to Humble Bundles, I recommend springing for the whole thing. They're beefy collections of quality games, they typically cost well under $20, and come on, stop being so cheap. For the new Humble Daedalic Bundle, however, I'm going to take a different approach. Spend a dollar, get Night of the Rabbit, and be on your way. Be entertained. Be happy!

Elder Scrolls mod Morrowind Rebirth gets a large new update

https://www.pcgamer.com/elder-scrolls-mod-morrowind-rebirth-gets-a-large-new-update/
By now, popular Elder Scrolls III mod Morrowind Rebirth has been around for almost a decade, but it's still going strong. Enhancing Morrowind both with technical fixes and by giving players more to see and do, this mod makes a classic from 2002 worth playing almost 20 years later.
Version 5.2 is predominantly aimed at bug fixes, both for the main game and Rebirth itself, basically further fixing some fixes. This includes graphical bugs, "hundreds of various minor mesh/texture edits", quest content such as "an issue where the Centurion Overlord was too large to fit through doorways", and unique enchantments to a number of weapons in Rebirth. Another large part of the update are balancing fixes for spell behaviour, spell cost, and enchantments.

https://www.pcgamer.com/risk-of-rain-2-will-be-out-on-august-11-with-a-new-character-stage-and-server-brower/
The third-person roguelike shooter Risk of Rain 2 first appeared on Steam in March 2019 and quickly became a hit, selling more than a million copies in its first month of release. It's not technically released yet, though—it's been in Early Access the entire time. But after a delay that saw it pushed back from the spring to the summer, Hopoo Games said today that it will finally go into full release on August 11.

Valorant’s least-picked agent is getting a major buff

https://www.pcgamer.com/valorants-least-picked-agent-is-getting-a-major-buff/
Viper has been all but ignored at high-level play: in the 102 games played in a recent tournament hosted by pro team T1, Viper was picked just once. (The second-highest, the frustrating vampire Reyna, had 18 picks.)
Valorant patch 1.04 buffs Viper and will make several other meaningful tweaks when it goes live.

Warzone players are tricking each other into getting stuck in this truck

https://www.pcgamer.com/warzone-players-are-tricking-each-other-into-getting-stuck-in-this-truck/
A bounty contract was sitting in the back of a truck parked up against an apartment building window. I crawled in to get it, because why not? It was right there. So, I got the contract, and very quickly learned the reason I shouldn't have: It is impossible to get out of this particular Call of Duty: Warzone truck.

The latest Cyberpunk 2077 concept art shows gang-controlled Heywood

https://www.pcgamer.com/the-latest-cyberpunk-2077-concept-art-shows-gang-controlled-heywood/
CD Projekt Red has been drip feeding gorgeous Cyberpunk 2077 concept art for weeks now. We've seen the smog-laden slums of Santo Domingo and the pristine billionaire nest that is Westbrook, among others. The latest drop shows Heywood, which is a bit of a mix of the aforementioned two: it's situated right in the thick of Night City, and demonstrates the stark realities of its wealth distribution.

For Honor is free to play this weekend

https://www.pcgamer.com/for-honor-is-free-to-play-this-weekend/
Lately there's been little good news out of Ubisoft, but people still like free stuff, so For Honor will be the next title that's free to play for a limited time.
Starting July 23 9am ET/2pm BST, you can play the game for free via Uplay. Preloading is available right now. Since its initial release in 2017, For Honor has grown a lot, adding new content such as new heroes, new 4v4 sieges and the Marching Fire expansion. Yet on PC, For Honor has a bit of a yoyo-ing player base, despite its many different battle modes. This could explain why there's a free weekend, even though that's nothing unusual for Ubisoft titles on the whole.

There's a new Fortnite skin based on... the Samsung Galaxy phone?

https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-item-shop-samsung-galaxy-scout-skin/
Fortnite has featured numerous collaborations with media franchises like Aquaman, Captain America, Star Wars, and countless others. So I'm not really sure if I should be that shocked that one of their next big offerings is a fancy new skin based on the Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Epic is even hosting an honest-to-god tournament if you want to win it before it hits the actual Fortnite item shop. There's also evidently a way to get the skin for free.

Final Fantasy 14 director says he doesn't anticipate further delays due to the coronavirus

https://www.pcgamer.com/final-fantasy-14-director-says-he-doesnt-anticipate-further-delays-due-to-the-coronavirus/
The coronavirus pandemic has affected the games industry in all sorts of ways, but for Final Fantasy 14 fans it meant waiting an extra two months for the release of its next update. Patch 5.3, Reflections in Crystal, was originally supposed to launch earlier this spring, but due to local quarantines in Japan, developers at Square Enix were required to transition to working from home. Reflections in Crystal is now arriving on August 11. During an interview with game director and producer Naoki Yoshida last week, he explained that, given FF14's rigorous update timeline, this resulted in a pretty big delay. But the good news is further delays in the next update are unlikely.

I kinda agree the game has been on the store for 4/5 years? If you wanted to buy it with discount you had plenty of options

I was more referring to people who had not yet bought it on Steam, which of course, there always would be.

Minecraft for example has been out for just shy of of 11 years now, yet it's always gaining new customers on a yearly basis. It hasn't stopped, and neither would customers for RL, only now your only chance on PC is via just one storefront now, while with consoles you have 3 options to choose from.

The point I'm getting at here is that a choice has been taken away from the consumer, which arguably isn't a good thing. Notice how Viv stated the people that already owned it on Steam, and not those that had yet to buy it there?. Just a tad disingenuous.

So how is that different from people being "strongarmed" in the past 5 years to buy it on steam? It is literally impossible to play RL without having a steam account on PC.

There is also still plenty of time to get it on Steam. Additionally to the year that it was already known it would be pulled from Steam. Nobody is "strongarmed" into getting a 5 year old game that is available on 4 different platforms.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

If they're going after 120fps with Forza, the ray tracing will be minimal.

It's increasingly looking like both AMD and Nvidia GPUs will be very hungry lads as I had feared.

Minimum PSU requirements going up for sure. Looks like both are going all out performance.

Hopefully my EVGA G2 750W is enough with some room for overclocking.

And it's not just the PSU. The cooling of those cards will have to be much better, and your case will need to have good airflow as well.

Who knows, maybe this will make proper watercooling popular again.
