Thief patch will add Mantle and TrueAudio to Garrett’s tool belt
CommentThis Tuesday Eidos Montreal are releasing a patch for Thief that will soup up the looks and the sounds of their new game. By adding support for AMD’s new Mantle api and TrueAudio technology the game will both look and sound better, all while boosting framerate. That’s what they say, at least.
We’ll know on 18 March.

They’ve got together members of the old team to talk about the game’s development and it’s turned up a couple of juicy details. For instance, “There was actually an entirely new game mode that was cut late in the project.” And it sounds like a real challenge.
Myo wristbands let you use your hands with the Oculus Rift
CommentThe Oculus Rift VR headset does a fine job of putting your head into a game’s world, letting you look around freely as though you weren’t sat in front of a computer. It does it so well in fact that it’s held back by other computer devices. When you think you’re in a game, using a keyboard and mouse is disappointing. It doesn’t match up to the experience.
The Myo wrist band’s been developed to counter that.
Starbound invaded by Agaran funghi
CommentA horror is coming to Starbound. It’s not yet escaped Early Access and a nightmare is stalking the caverns and caves of the space exploration game, the Agaran funghi.
These marauding space mushrooms have been spotted by the community but not much is known about them. Now developer Chucklefish has broadcast a transmission from the researcher sent to detail the creatures.
It doesn’t end well.
New CRYENGINE Video Shows Off Realtime Fluid/Water Effects
YouTube’s member ’18T220′ has posted a video, showcasing real-time fluid/water effects in CRYENGINE that come really close to those powered by PhysX.
