Put it in a trust fund to save your own soul

I would, but I sold my soul a long time ago when I signed up for Steam just because it was the only store that had a game I wanted to play. Weirdly enough I did not go to the internet to whine about store exclusivity. I probably should've.

Minecraft has sold 176 million copies, may be the best-selling game ever
https://www.pcgamer.com/minecraft-has-sold-176-million-copies-may-be-the-best-selling-game-ever/
Microsoft took the opportunity of Minecraft's 10th anniversary to announce their new AR game Minecraft Earth, and also casually mention that Mojang's voxel-em-up has now sold 176 million copies. That's across all platforms of course, including Minecraft: Pocket Edition on mobile, and it means Minecraft might now be the best-selling game of all time.
It's impossible to say for sure because nobody's willing to say exactly how many copies Tetris has sold, with estimated figures varying from 170 million to 425 million—depending who's doing the counting and which of the many versions available count as real Tetris.
The only other game to have crossed the 100 million line is Grand Theft Auto 5, which has sold 110 million copies.

Borderlands 3 has also been removed from the Epic Games Store Mega Sale
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/borderlands-3-has-also-been-removed-from-the-epic-games-store-mega-sale/
Following Paradox Interactive’s example, 2K Games has decided to remove Borderlands 3 from the Epic Games Store Mega Sale. While you still can pre-order the game, the initial $10 discount does no longer apply. Some say that Epic’s additional $10 discount is still on effect so you still may get it cheaper, and we expect 2K Games to honour all those that were quick enough to take advantage of the sale and pre-order the game.
What this ultimately means is that Borderlands 3, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 and Oxygen Not Included have been removed from the Epic Mega Sale. Not only that, but Ubisoft’s games are nowhere to be found (this is mainly due to some issue with the interaction between the Epic Games Store and Uplay, however it’s worth pointing out that the games are no longer available on Epic’s store).

Into the Breach and FTL, two of the best indie games on PC, made their way to the basic tier of Origin Access this week, while Tropico 6 and tactics game Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden came to the Premier version.
Subscribers to the basic tier, which is $30/£20 a year or $5/£4 a month, also got black-and-white puzzler Shift Quantum and Taiwanese horror game Detention, which Andy was a big fan of. Into the Breach, our 2018 game of the year, and FTL were both made by Subset Games—EA opened up Origin Access to third parties last year.
Tropico 6, a solid entry to the city building series, and the XCOM-like Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden are part of the much pricier Origin Access Premier, which is $100/£90.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild mods can now customize Link's skin, add entire custom maps
https://www.pcgamer.com/zelda-breath-of-the-wild-mods-can-now-customize-links-skin-add-entire-custom-maps/
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild mods have been incredible since the beginning, when the Wii U emulator Cemu first made the game playable on PC. These days it's very playable, to the tune of 4K, 60 fps, and you can even play it in first-person.
Most of the character mods were, naturally, ridiculous, replacing Link entirely or swapping his motorcycle for a rideable Sonic the Hedgehog. But modding progress continues to be amazing, and with a graphics pack it's now possible to extensively customize the look of Breath of the Wild, from its foggy skies right down to the color of Link's hair and skin.

This NieR Automata mod for Dark Souls 3 allows you to play as 2B
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/this-nier-automata-mod-for-dark-souls-3-allows-you-to-play-as-2b/
Created by modder ‘Forsakensilver’, this mod replaces the Fallen Knight set with 2B’s 3D model from NieR Automata. This mod is the ported version of the Sekiro’s 2B mod that we have recently reported (so be sure to also download that one if you are playing Sekiro).
In short, this is just a 3D model swapper and nothing more. Still, I’m almost certain that a number of players will be interested in it. 2B’s 3D model suits the game’s atmosphere and does not feel visually and aesthetically out of place (okay okay, it does not make sense to have a robot-girl with a skirt in a game like Dark Souls 3 but still).

Skyrim Together modders reveal death threats from community
https://www.pcgamer.com/skyrim-together-modders-reveal-death-threats-from-community/
The team behind co-op mod Skyrim Together has received "multiple direct death threats" from members of its community, it has revealed.
In the mod's May report one modder, Yamashi, apologized for saying last month that the team "[doesn't] owe the community anything". The team said Yamashi's comments were "poorly written and a result of a lot of pressure and frustration"—but that pressure came partly from fans "harassing" them, with some going as far as to send death threats, they said.

With devious games now tricking us into walking around outside and, god forbid, meeting real people, Microsoft and Mojang have decided to get in on the action with their own AR mobile game: Minecraft Earth. Walkout organizers 'disappointed' by Riot's refusal to change forced arbitration policy
https://www.pcgamer.com/walkout-organizers-disappointed-by-riots-refusal-to-change-forced-arbitration-policy/
Earlier this month, employees at League of Legends studio Riot Games staged a walkout over the company's policy requiring that disputes with employees be settled through private arbitration rather than through lawsuits. Five current and former Riot employees filed lawsuits against the company in the wake of last year's in-depth Kotaku report into the company's deeply sexist internal culture; Riot moved to block some of those lawsuits by claiming that the employees involved had signed agreements waiving their rights to trials against the company.

CD Projekt promises 'more humane' Cyberpunk 2077 crunch than devs endured for The Witcher 3
https://www.pcgamer.com/cd-projekt-promises-more-humane-cyberpunk-2077-crunch-than-devs-endured-for-the-witcher-3/
CD Projekt Red faced complaints in 2017 from unhappy former employees, including criticism of the long hours they were forced to work as they wrapped up The Witcher 3. At the time, CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwiński and studio head Adam Badowski defended the practice, saying that its approach isn't for everyone but that it "creates innovation and makes it possible for us to say we've worked really hard on something, and we think it's worth your hard-earned cash."
Speaking in an interview with Kotaku this week, however, Iwiński said the studio wants to take a more "humane" approach to late-stage development by leaning more heavily into a "non-obligatory crunch policy."

Rainbow Six Siege disables Clash, other gadgets causing game-breaking exploits

During a week that should be filled with anticipation for Operation Phantom Sight, Rainbow Six Siege matches have become a minefield of game-breaking exploits that make Clash, IQ, and certain deployable shield-wielders unstoppable. In an extremely rare move by developer Ubisoft, the offending gadgets and operator are completely disabled for all players until the bugs are squashed in a patch next week.

Apex Legends' next patch will say goodbye to Gibraltar's sticky shield

Lords of the Fallen 2 studios fall out over quality of work, one leaves project

One of the two studios making action-RPG Lords of the Fallen 2 has left the project after a disagreement over the quality of their work.
CI Games, one of the co-developers of the original Lords of the Fallen, brought in New York-based developer Defiant Studios last year to give the sequel a "fresh start". Defiant was supposed to rebuild the game from scratch but has now left the project, with CI Games claiming Defiant's work wasn't good enough. CI Games will now finish development fully in-house.

https://www.pcgamer.com/expect-call-of-duty-black-ops-5-with-singleplayer-in-2020-according-to-report/
According to Kotaku's sources, Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 will be developed by Treyarch and released in 2020 following a "major upheaval" at Activision.
While this year's Call of Duty game—which we're likely to hear more about before E3—is rumored to be Modern Warfare 4, previously Raven were the studio heading up the 2020 entry in the series, " a Call of Duty game set during the Cold War". Now that game will apparently be repurposed into a singleplayer campaign for a new Black Ops by Treyarch, which was previously on the cards for 2021.

Buying games too fast on the Epic Games Store can lock your account
https://www.pcgamer.com/buying-games-too-fast-on-the-epic-games-store-can-lock-your-account/
The Epic Games Store's first major sale has had its fair share of teething problems, with games like Bloodlines 2 and Oxygen Not Included removed from the store shortly after the sale kicked off, followed by Borderlands 3. There are still plenty of discounts, but buying a lot of games could potentially result in your account being blocked from making more purchases.
Last week, streamer Patrick Boivin claimed he bought five games on the Epic Games Store and then his account was flagged as potentially fraudulent.
“This was a result of our aggressive fraud rules,” Epic Games' senior PR Nick Chester told Game Revolution. “If players run into this issue, they should contact player support so we can investigate.”

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/you-can-now-play-as-takayuki-yagami-from-yakuza-judgment-in-yakuza-kiwami-2/
Judgement, also known as Project Judge and Judge Eyes, is the upcoming Yakuza spin-off that SEGA is currently working on. And while this game has only been announced for PS4 (at least for now), PC gamers can play as its protagonist in Yakuza Kiwami 2 thanks to a brand new mod.
This mod, called Yakuza Kiwami 2 mod: “Takayuki Yagami v.1”, is created by modder ‘Moonspell’ and replaces the Kiwami2 main protagonist Kazuma Kiryu with Takayuki Yagami from Yakuza Judgment. Takayuki Yagami’s 3D model will also replace Kiryu’s model during cut-scenes and the mini games, thus making it feel pretty consistent and cool (or should I say “rad”).
In order to install it, you’ll have to download it from here, create a Backup of “chara.par” and “db.par”, then use the Patcher (xdelta3) with the Patchfile, and then copy the new db.par to your Gamefolder “Data”.

In fact, Christianbliss described as “kinda bad” so expect to see some visual glitches and inconsistencies here and there. Still, the mod is functional and I’m pretty sure that some players will be interested in it.
>> The mod is available from Nexus Mods, but in order to run it you'll also need to install the Mod Engine.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer pledges improved safety and inclusivity in online games

Earlier this month, Microsoft shared some examples of "trash talk" in an Xbox Community Standards update that were amusing in their relative inoffensiveness, substitution of "" and "" for actual profanity and racial slurs, and heavy reliance on "potato" as an insult, which I'll admit is a new one on me. But the company seems serious about addressing abusive behavior in games, a point Head of Xbox Phil Spencer emphasized in a blog post in which he wrote that "gaming is for everyone."

Sassy I see

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
