Microsoft does what Nintendon't
I'm all for removing that stupid region lock!
Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/
Nintendo doesn't have to end region-locking, but it's fine for comsumers to voice their opinions on the subject and suggest for this feature to be removed. I'm sure that of the outcry is large enough, Nintendo might rethink their position. However, it'll probably have to take root in Japan first and foremost.

Those protests would likely yield no fruit. I too would like for those ends to be achieved since I intend on purchasing one - at some point.

Ha ha ha! It does kinda fit. :P
And what a great movie it is. =)
There is currently a campaing on a website where you can sign and if they reach 10 000 they are going to send it to Nintendo or something like that. I singed up for that, consoles should all be free of region lock by now, in my opinion.

Ya, the critics were way to harsh with this movie.

Many of them were. But the ones I do follow and read were all positive.

Don't expect them to bend easily, or soon. It will likely take them the entire generation of the failing Wii U, and maybe even another, for Nintendo to finally wake up an create a console that sells again. They posess the ability to do it, they just refuse to for some odd reason. I love Nintendo, but they are perhaps the most stubborn company I've ever known. It is simply maddening. |
If the N64 and Gamecube made money then they aren't failed systems in my eyes. Sure they kept losing userbase but if you keep making profit then that says something. Hard to tell though considering they lump hand helds and consoles systems together but neither system lost money overall. The only system they lost money on was the Virtual Boy. Now that was a failure. Sure it is bad to lose consumers to competitors. However, Nintendo has always found a way to make profit. Same can't be said of companies like Blackberry which lost consumers and didn't make profit. As long as you are making profit then you are doing something right. Microsoft and Sony have barely made any % of profit that Nintendo has in the video game industry. Microsoft has to bleed money to get an userbase while Sony keeps selling systems at a loss during launch (huge losses for PS3 launch).
Nintendo doesn't need to be region free? Say that to everyone who begs for mother 3 to come here.
