They should create a stronger console that costs more than Wii-u. Have a lot of the new Nintentdo games work on the Wii u as to not give the loyalist a big f u. Its the best thing Nintendo could do to be honest. (compromise) M$ dropping the xbox and going on to the 360 did them more good than harm.

Sega Saturn says hi!! Besides ~4mil userbase wouldn't be so happy if they did that.  The console while no powerhouse compared to the PS4/X1 is still no slouch.  I doubt perception will change if they do that.  Adding value to the system is the best direction for them. $299 with a game is a great value for a console witch has a little more oommph than current PS360 but not as powerful as the upcoming systems.  Dreamcast would have done well with the right price and knowing to market to Sega's fanbase.

BTW anybody care to think when they should re-launch the system. It'll be suicidal for them (IMHO) to cut the price of the system this November or Dec when the PS4 and X1 launches.

When else should they do it? Do you think they should bury their heads in the sand and hope the whole PS4 & XB1 thing blows over instead?

I think they should do it this August when Pikmin launches. This definitely would work better than putting their relaunch in front of speeding train that is the X1/PS4 launch.  They should also include a playable downloaded demo of Mario 3D world, Wonderful 101,  Rayman Legends etc.  Honestly, Nintendo's weakest link is their marketing, their engineers and software designers  are very good but they have crappy marketing!!!

Just bundle an extra game maybe but also increase the hard drive size for the same price.

Kinda' hard to increase the memory since they are using a flash drive!!! To be honest I don't understand why they chose such expensive storage option for the Wii U.

SSD is very fast as storage and is very quickly getting cheap. I guess Nintendo choose it to keep the Wii U small.

I understand...but the cost was just not worth it.

I don't know about unifying them, but I thought from day one when they launched the console it should of been cheaper by 50$ on both models.

I thought it would have been very cool if they had released the Best Buy demos to every Wii U owner during E3. They were so close, and that would have won it for them easily. I swear the first to figure out how to line this up has a guaranteed E3 win for that year.

As for August, I'm not sure Pikmin has the power to push a relaunch. They really might have to wait for the Kart / Smash combo, but at least that is pretty much guaranteed to make an impact.

Good point I should have added a $249.99 basic version w/o a game that would compete with the phased out PS360.  My bad, but I honestly believe unifiying the system to the deluxe version for $300 is the way to go.

32 GB = $299 (with one game)
64 GB = $349 (with one game)

so in short you chose option 2 on the poll.

Too late to wait for Kart and Smash. I think it would be too late for even 3D world as the PS4/X1 would have launched.  It's better to strike before the competition is here.  It's like preparing for an invasion; you don't do it when the frigates and carriers are on your territorial waters before setting up your missle batteries.

HardDisk failures are not as pravelent as they used to be.  Besides I doubt it would fail in it's first 2 years.
