The irony for me is that a Japanese company is launching there console in North and South America, Europe and the middle east but have yet to confirm a release in Japan this year.

There is a event weeks before the TGS to announce PS4 in Japan... I think they will get the same US/EU release.

Japan is not a guarantee because Japanese people don't buy home consoles anymore |

plus, it is Sony's home country
So it's coming almost everywhere in 2013?

I was at the GameStop I used to work at yesterday (they still keep me in the know about certain matters that the public isn't in on). My friend [Manager] told me they can pre-order as many PS4s as they please. This is going to be one of Sony's biggest holidays since the PS2 days! |
Agreed!! Sony must be really confident they will be able to fulfill all those preorders otherwise they would not have allowed them to do that. Me also thinks Sony is gonna be in for a massive holiday.

Or the customers didn't read the small print and they've actually pre ordered their console to pick up in May 2014....

Yeh me too. If the digitimes article is right then Sony have already started production and should have more than enough for a worldwide launch before the end of the year.

I've read and heard from multiple people that Sony has just begun production this month. Some people from gamestop have said that sony has started production also.
The emerging markets are why I think the PS3 will beat out the Wii.
