| Augen said: Honestly, I do not think any console in history has been an absolute day one purchase for me. Any system needs a year or so before library starts to be well rounded. I will happily get a PS4 in 2014, and a Wii U in 2015 or so. |
Judging by your signature you could have waited 7 years into this playstation's lifecycle for a decent library. ;p
OT: waiting for a decent library, as always.
most of these points are a reason to buy a PC laptop

Yeah... most. Except you won't be playing Naughty Dog's next masterpiece on a laptop... -__-

Sony has more than one though. Same for Nintendo. What about Microsoft?

A fair point. My signature are games looking to buy this year on console. I own about 50+ titles for my PS3 so I have been quite happy in my roughly 5 years of ownership. Of course I waited two years or after it came out before making the plunge. I do tend to find my enjoyment for Japanese games means the middle to end of any system life is generally the best period for my taste. 2013 may very well be the best year for PS3 for me, with games like Ni No Kuni and my recent purchase The Last of Us being excellent titles.

Thats arguable.Naughty Dog can't do no wrong it seems. The other major ones are Santa Monica, but the latest GOW was a sales disapointment. Theres also Polyphany Digital, but personally, Id take Forza over GT. The rest don't make blockbusters in particular. IMO.
MS has 343 now, given Halo 4 sales.

True apart from one point: a good gaming pc costs more than $400 (including a good mouse and/or controller, a good tv screen/monitor, keyboard and some decent speakers).

Naughty Dog does have an incredibly good track record. Surely you don't question that.
Santa Monica is also quite awesome.
Sucker Punch is getting better and better.
Polyphony Digital is responsible for the best selling car franchise.
Microsoft has Halo. No matter what studio makes the Halo games, it will sell. Unless the quality drops title after title. Which I don't see happening soon.
They also have Lionhead, responsible for my favourite MS IP. Fable. But Fable Journey wasn't really good. Here's hoping Fable 4 will correct that. Even if Fable 3 wasn't as good as Fable 2 to me.
It will be interesting to see how their recent investment into first party studios will play out during the XBO's life cycle. If they can take a cue from Sony and deliver a great variety of quality titles, they may be able to even the playing field with Sony.
