i dont ever see a need to buy this thing. it looks kinda cool, but if im at home playing a game, im usually not walking around with it, im at a computer desk.... i just dont see the need or use for it for me. lower price is a good thing, but i dont think it will be very successful. i havent seen anywhere a thread or article that talks about how they have to have one of these things.

Nvidia wat ?
Even vita got awful sales, don't know what special this device may offer

Not very familiar with the Tegra 4 processor, what can this thing run?

Nintendo and PC gamer

This + PC smokes next gen consoles in terms of gaming features, flexibility and awesome sauce...but it does cost more.

Looking good! If I was richer I could definitely see myself picking one of these up.

The 3ds is $200 ? Shit everywhere I go I see the 3dsXL for $179.99 and the 3ds for $160. For some reason I do not see this thing gaining much traction in any market. Looks kind of stupid IMO walking around with an xbox360 controller in my pocket.

As far as power is concerned its basically the 360 in a handheld form possibly better frames per second with higher resolution if it's a full blown tegra quad with all 2gb of memory and not a watered down version. People claim you can get PC type of graphics with games like left for dead and skyrim but I don't put much faith in maxed out settings for skyrim on this HH device.

This thing doesn't play PC games. It streams them form your PC. You will get PC type graphics if your PC can handle it... If you don't have a Pc you can only play Android games.

Take the source with a grain of salt though

PC streaming

Android[9]

Alongside its exclusive games, the Shield will also be able to download apps and games from Google Play, as with most other Android-based devices.

Thanks!

Looks like this will be good for Android games only, don't really see the point on paying $300 for streaming games from a PC.

Nintendo and PC gamer

You still need a Nvidia card on your PC to be able to stream the games, right?

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Wait, WHAT?! Android or streamed games from a PC?

...I know NVidia's probably a little desperate because they lost all of the console bids to AMD, so even the PC games will probably work better on Raedon cards, but for $300 I expect something which can function independently because, well, competition below your point can. Even with purdy graphics, between the not-sleek shape and the inevitable lack of support, this thing isn't even worth $150.

(I gaze into the future, and I foresee firesales.)
