Forums - Gaming - Do you still play your old games? How much replay value can a game have?

Of course, i play all of my favorite ps1 and ps2 games (the only consoles i kept) every week or so, Megaman X(3,4,5,6,7,8), Gran Turismo(1,2,4), Persona 3, Castlevania SOTN, Yu-Gi-Oh forbidden memories, Final Fantasy X, PES, Winning Eleven 2002, Gun, Tony Hawk Pro Skater (2,4), Pepsi Man, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Warriors Orochi(1), Lord Of The Rings the third age, Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Star Wars the force unleashed... -|- *deep breath* the .hack//G.U. series *crosses itself* -may the rpg gods take care of you* -|- and a lot more, those are just the ones i can think from the top of my head, lots of games aren't liste in my collection just because of my laziness, my uncle always brought me games from the Caribbean and north america when he was out (he was a translator for a ship/boat/shipment/orWhatever company) - And play N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, NES, Sega Genesis (and PS3 and 360) in a friends house, he's a collector so it's pretty much like heaven.

I can just play any game if i feel like it, doesn't matter if i already beat it 100s of times, Persona 3 and .hack//G.U. vol 2 are perfect examples.

EDIT: all those games of course i still play regularly.

...Yu-Gi-Oh forbidden memories...

Yes, loved that game.

My most replayed games are:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (I own on SNES, GBA, Wii VC) <-Will replay before A Link Between Worlds later this year.
Final Fantasy Tactics (I own on PS1 & iOS) <-Just got an HD upscale on iOS with achievements so I will probably replay this again soon.
Civilization IV Beyond the Sword (I own this on PC twice, on MAC and through Steam - purchased is 4 times) <-I play this a few hours a month minimum every month for like 10 years
Pokemon Silver & Blue <- Replaying Blue now and will replay Silver again before X/Y launch

I also replay Smash Bros. Brawl fairly regularly, MK 64, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country (All three but 2 is my favorite), Mech Warrior IV Mercenaries and I have Wii Fit Plus I play 3 times a week but that's part of my excercise regime.

Oddly there are two games I played in the last year that may join these ranks (ie I have an itch to replay them which is rare for newer games) Fire Emblem Awakening and XCOM Enemy Unknown, both awesome games that I enjoyed very much.

Systems Currently Playing: WiiU, PS3, 3DS

Also Have: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, PS1, N64, PS2, Wii, GB, GBC, GBA, DSLite, DSi, Android (RazorMax), iPhone (4), iPad (2)

I think I've played Castlevania: Symphony of the night at least 3 times now and I intend to replay it on my PSV as soon as possible.
I've played Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 so many times that at one point I could recite the dialogue from the game. I believe I'll boot it up on my PS2 as soon as I can once again...or buy it on the PS3 if it's available. I got an itch to replay it again hehe.
Ace Combat 5 is again a very played game of mine, which I believe I'll revisit this year as well.
Final Fantasy IX I've played 7 times, at least, and it's always a pleasure visiting it again. I'm working on a perfect save game on my PSP right now, but it's on hiatus until I get my handheld back from the buddy to whom I've lent it.

Any Mario Kart game is a perfect example of re-playability. In fact... I have the urge to go play the Wii one right now.

Dreamcast: Gauntlet Legends.. Timestalkers, Evolution 1 & 2, and Grandia 2...

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

If I had more time I would go back and play more older games. But I always make time to go back and play my favorites from time to time DKC one and 2, FFIX and Tactics, SW Battlefront, Comet Crash, Resistance 2, Burnout Paradise, and Twisted Metal 2. Every few years I replay them and they are still just as fun to me as they were when I first played them.

Games I replay more then once a year...
Ocarina of time
Marjoras Mask
Super Metroid
Metroid Prime 1 2 and 3
A Link to the Past
Super Mario World
Super Mario 64
Every smash bros. game
every mario cart game, minus Super circuit and Super Mario Kart
Metroid Zero Mission
Super Mario Galaxy
Twilight Princess
Paper Mario 64 and... thats all I can think of right now

I've been "playing" SimCity 4 for ten years now.

I really need to sleep.
