I've never seen The Richard Donner Cut's so I'l have to take your word for it.

It's better than the original version, and a shame he didn't get to do both films the way he really wanted to.

That being said, the official version we got had Zod and crew killed. No way around this one.

No they were not. It was left to the audience to figure if they were alive or dead. They are Kyrptonians, they just don't die falling in the artic. Did we see the bodies of the dead Kryptonians? Superman smile at Zod because he knew they would be stuck in the ice like they were in the Phantom Zone.

At that point, they didn't have their Kryptonian powers anymore. Noticed how Lois managed to punch Ursa down so easily?

But, if you really want to play it like that, Superman killed Zod in 1987. He premedited it, actually. And yeah, it was the canon Superman (not an elseworld's) who did that.

Thanks.

Honestly fuck this shit...he killed Zod in a few comics which proved that what he did was still true to the comics. And if you have such a big problem with why a superhero was forced to kill zod in order to save a family and later crying at what he did not because it was wrong, but becuase he killed and did something that was against his values...you clearly have some issues with sensitivity. And you can enjoy ur crappy old superman movies that was cheesy in terms of action, overly simple character's (which is odd considering superhero movies have complex characters which makes sense as  considering superheroes are very complex characters), slow and boring stories and worst of all terrible acting. But hey..it stay's true to superman's comics right?

Hum... I think you didn't quote the right comment.

yeah lol I was trying to quote bonkers not you...sorry about that

Just saw this thread!

Man of Steel was a disappointment for me. Overlong, overly serious, a complete lack of chemistry between the two leads, overblown set pieces. I thought the mythology of Krypton was interesting, and the movie was surprisingly well-paced for such a long affair, but overall it was a misfire.

I'd place it in the middle of the pack when it comes to superhero movies.
