The popular topic right now is comparing the two systems and sales potential, so any data that's interesting and could spark meaningful discussion to that end should be shared. If people aren't interested in the topic, it will fail to get many replies and fall into internet forum obscruity. Ironically by commenting on the thread, you bumped it back into relevancy.
I agree that this doesn't mean the next generation is over, or even the holiday season is won by either side. Reading too much into little ticks here or there on things like this would be like watching a stock price all day thinking it's a representation of the long term viability of a company. That being said, it's relevant right now, just as watching a stock price when really good or really bad news comes out about a company.
