Forums - Gaming - List Of PS4 and XB1 Multiplats Not Coming To The Wii U

Is there a connection between the Wii U and the Vita? Almost Every time the Wii U is mentioned, someone else mentions the VITA- As a Wii U owner, the fortunes of the Vita are irrelevant to me- are they relevant to a lot of other people? Am I missing something? Should Nintendo use the Vita as a standard to measure the wi u against?

Hurray we have almost as many sales as the Vita, we have almost as many games as the vita!

I always wondered why the NY Yankees did not use the Chicago Cubs as a measuring stick too?

No connection outside of being rejected by the marketplace and the industry

RE: "You know I hate it.. everybody is quick to show what third party support Nintendo won't have.. when they know Nintendo fans buy the consoles mainly for Nintendo games.. hell gamers in general.. admit they like Nintendo games.. and say they own the console.. but only for the exclusives.. then they b---h and moan that Nintendo isn't getting any games because they have other systems for third party games.. well guess what.. your part of the problem .. if you would actually buy third party games on a Nintendo system.. they would get good games.. yeah so what if Nintendo does not have the best graphics.. you want good games.. other than first party.. all of you need to start buying third party titles.. otherwise you need to be quite and except the fact that there is going to be few if any released on your system.. or if they are.. they are just cheap ports.."

I agree w you re Nintendo fans complaining about developers ignoring the Wii U/Nintendo, then saying they would not buy their games on Nintendo consoles (if at all) anyway.

I can t speak for others but we are a 1 console household. I purchased a Wii for my then 4 year old son 3 years ago- Since it was later in the Wii's lifespan, there were plenty of games to play even though Ninty started to slow down on support for the Wii a year or 2 after I bought it (as did 3rd parties)

When the Wii U was announced there had already been plenty of complaints re no 3rd party support for the Wi and complaints that Nintendo itself had quit supporting the Wii as well- (presumably to get software ready for the Wii U).

Nintendo was very insistent they would not let the Wii U be the victim of a software drought (as had happened w the 3DS). They were also adamant they would position the Wii U to have strong 3rd party support. Based on our Families good experience w the Wii, Nintendo s own words and Nintendo having advertised/referred to its unprecedented # of launch titles for the Wii U as well ( still factoring a healthy margin of error seeing as how they were trying to launch their console) I purchased the Wii U at launch).

As we all know, as soon as the holiday sales season came to an end Nintendo began to announced substantial delays in many launch games, Sales tanked and 3rd party support understandably evaporated- If Nintendo was not going to support its own console at launch- why in the world would a 3rd party developer/publisher support it.

Obviously Nintendo made other mistakes re the Wii U launch but the bottom line is Nintendo is responsible for the commitments it made to its fans and anyone who purchased a Wii U during launch- They are the source of expectations re the Wii U. THey are the reason the Wii U failed to meet those expectations to date. They have no one to blame but themselves.

It is either naïve and/or insincere to put any blame on 3rd party developers/publishers and it is a mistake assumption to think most people who purchased a Wii U did so w the intent that it would be a 2ndary console primarily for the purpose of 1st and 2nd party games. I can t imagine too many people who intend to buy the Wii U primarily for 1st party games would have purchased 1 yet due to a lack of those games through at least late 2013.

So we both are agreeing to a point.. (So much you agreed with me on the fact about Nintendo fans.. and I agree with you that Nintendo messed up)  But I don't think I am mistaken in saying that people do buy it as a secondary system for 1st and 2nd party games.. (I did not say most.. I believe a lot of people do use the Wii U as their primary system.. ) But I also believe from what I have witnessed, read, and heard through out the Internet and in gaming shops.. electronic sections.. and friends and family households that plenty of people do indeed have the Wii U as a seconadary system... (Just as they did with the N64, the Gamecube, and the Wii) and that it is enough to make a differance in third party sells if they were willing to buy third party games (and as thus support)... I think their is a lot more out there waiting for a New Zelda or Metroid or something... (Or multiple titles) to buy the Wii U... but once again for the most part it will only be a secondary system... or if it is a primary system.. they will mainly.. or perhaps only support Nintendo titles.. and once again the Wii U will either be ignored.. or get a load of toned down ports.. or party games.. etc... and eventually it is not going to be Nintendo's fault anymore.. it's going to be the gamers  and the publishers... (Maybe in that order.. maybe not)

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

I agree, it does seem a high % of people buy Nintendo consoles as a 2ndary console. If I were in that group )and I did not already buy a Wii U) then my only complaint would be that Nintendo hurry up and give me a reason to purchase the console - like a few more 1st and 2nd party games released and a price drop. I would wait on both and enjoy playing many of the outstanding games released on my hypothetical primary console while I waited.

What I can t figure out re the Wii U is who Nintendo targeted w it. Right now it does not seem to address any of the typical classes of console purchasers - although by year end they will probably have enough 1st/2nd party games out to attract the customer base you discussed - but how many of those buyers exist and is it enough to sustain the Wii u w console purchases and software sales?

Well the Wii U has got the following Multi-platform AAA games confirmed for upcoming release:

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Watch Dogs
Project CARS
Batman: Arkham Origins
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut

Add to that a likely Call of Duty: Ghosts port as well, it aren't that bad. Still way behind the third party offering on the Xbox/PS. But still a lot better than the support the Wii received for AAA third party games. Who to say once the Wii U user base increases that we will see a lot more third party support in future.

And none of them are next-gen exclusives either. So I guess it was easy to port the PS3/360 versions.

To be fair not all of the games listed in the opening post are not really true exclusive to the next generation of consoles either. As a lot of them coming out on the Xbox360/Ps3.

To be fair none of the PC/PS4/XB1 multiplats are coming for the Wii U. And that is worrying.

Ubisoft's using the 8th-gen (can we please stop using the tired buzzword "next-gen"?) engine for Wii U Watch Dogs.

I was going to come in and lock this, but it doesn't seem to have degraded as such quite yet.

For now.

Source?

someone compile a list of next gen games that aren't coming to PC so I can feel bad about my platform of choice for 2 seconds until I realize I don't care about any of them and decide I don't want to buy a PS4 anyway.

Because I came dangerously close to pre-ordering one today before reminding myself buying consoles on day one is stupid.

Atleast non Wii U owners wouldn't even consider buying a Wii U for any of the games listed. This thread serves just as a warning to them.

Well I would hope someone who owns a Wii U wouldn't consider buying another Wii U to play games that aren't coming to the platform...

I'm just bored and posting bullshit anyway, don't mind me
