Except MS has more right now that we know of. Until that number changes, MS is winning in number. Also its worth noting that the 15 X1 exclusives dont take into account 3rd party XBLA and retail exclusives, which we know MS is pushing harder then Sony on this |
I don't get your logic, just because they haven't been announced doesn't mean they won't be exclusive games to PS4 in the first year, but if you want to count announced only so be it.
I know those 15 are all MS studios, those 20 from sony are also only from sony, so with those indies it's 29, and assuming a few third parties it's a bit over 30. MS will probs have more third parties, but not digital so I'd put them at 25.

But about your personal preference?

First party in the first year:
X1: 15
PS4: 20
expect X1 to have more TP retails but PS4 more TP digitals.
The Order 1886, Infamous Second Son and Killzone win it for me. Although on Microsoft's side i liked Dead Rising 3 and Project Spark. Also, Titanfall isn't even a console exclusive, it's on Xbox 360 too.
Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030
Do any of us know how good any of these will be? There could be some Lairs and Gazes in there.
Titanfall, Forza 5, and Ryse FTW. In comparison Sony didn't really show a single thing that appealed to me much, except for that 1886 game. I am not interested in paying $500 for a console at launch though. Sony could easily make me a day one buyer by showing something that looks good.
I'm only taking the releases within the launch window, because it's obvious that both have further titles in developement which have to be announced yet.
X1
Title: Interest (0 to 10)
Ryse: 7
Forza: 6
Kinect Sports Rivals: 0
Killer Instinct: 2
Dead Rising: 7
PS4:
Knack : 7
Killzone Shadowfall: 6
Infamous Second Son: 9
DriveClub: 6
Planetside: 2
Warframe: Never heard of... 0
DC Universe: 0
FFXIV: 0
I have to admit that X1 has very interesting games that'll come later in 2014, especially Quantum Break and Titanfall, but I'm sure the Sony has several unannounced big guns for 2014 as well. Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Media Molecule, Quantic Dreams. I'm sure all those guys are working on next-gen.
So both consoles will not have any killer games at launch, but both will have appealing games, with the PS4 slightly ahead for my taste.

Bwahaha.
Thats the onl reason why I'm not excited for Ryse. I have a feeling its a on rails QTE game in disguise. I'll have to wait for the hands on previews.
Personally the XB1 games were much more appealing to me. It was drool city for me :). I will say some of the PS4 exclusives look very impressive and I know some will be incredible. I just prefer the XB1 lineup and it appeals more to me.
As far as this DRM thing...honestly if it ends up resulting in steam type price deals where you can get fairly new games as digital downloads for $5 or $10 thats totally worth it to me. But the policies of PS4 are more attractive when you look at the big picture as well as the $100 cheaper price tag.
In the end however Games are always the biggest selling point. Sony has a lot of cards they can play just right to hamper XB1 sales, but if more people are impressed with the XB1 exclusives then it will trump that. Time will tell.
Lastly I do however think MS was totally expecting the PS4 to be $499. At this point Im sure something will change. Something like either MS will throw in a couple nice digital games with the XB1 for the $499 price or they will offer a subscription model XB1 at $249 or $299 and have a 2 year xbox live subscription at $15 a month. Somehow someway if MS sees they will start losing sales wise they will do something to circumvent that. Thats just the way they work especially when we are talking about trying to get their console install base grow as quickly as possible.
