Forums - Gaming - Xbone & PS4 comparison

So, I think barring the external factors outside and just keeping focus on the whole fucking purpose of E3 - Games. This year I will have to give the best of e3(so far) award to Microsoft(Sorry I haven't watched the Nintendo!).

Why? Because of the games, there was a consistent flow of them. This time around it was Sony that did the multimedia crap, yet people still praise them as winner. Mindboggling.

How its looking

Xbone: DRM lock, only allowing resale of games through a selected retailer, 24 hour check in policy. Hefty price at $499 or £429, should probably get 1.5 jobs for that. However, seems to be like a better first party offerings to the table initially, not sure about continuation of the support as shown in the case of 360.

PS4:  Priced at $399, £350. Because 'Murica, that's why. Big win in that respect, they know it wont sell judging by the previous trends otherwise, Wii U launched at $349 for deluxe bundle and still manages to tank to this day. 3DS, Vita, same story. Price seems to be a big factor now, and even $399 will likely be considered "too high", nevermind the $499 mark. Has BC (awesome).

Have to pay for online now, many a crows will be ate.

Wii U: ??? Sorry I actually have no clue about Nintendo consoles, no offence to any Nintendo fans, but the system just never appealed to me personally.

Conclusion: We're all getting fucked in the console industry, so I am off to PC(Where I can't even contemplate reselling my games). (Might pick up PS4 later, after the definitely incoming price cut, I'd give it a year).

Note: Actually I think Wii U is probably the only true remaining "console" as some people may see them - initial first buy, with no added fees afterwards. Now that's cute. It should definitely sell better just to show the pigs the error of their ways.

Anything above £300 is really too expensive in the current economic climate, I feel.

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
That's how I feel too. Emergency price cuts inbound.
I haven't watched Nintendo's show either, but that's solely because it has yet to come.
Wii U won't sell better, because third parties don't want it to sell. There's no realistic way of showing the pigs the errors of their way, because too many gamers will have to give in due to a lack of other options (or rather they give in, because they are too weak to resist).
And yes, even the PS4's price is too high. Will be slow starts into the eighth gen all around.
I actually feel bad for Wii U in terms of third party support. Not even sure why, if it was a bitch of a console to develop for I would understand, but it's just lack of faith I suppose. Well, at least Nintendo has a solid AAA first party which are guaranteed to be system sellers.
