I am very disappointed. Might stick with just Steam after this unfortunate development. Charging for p2p multiplayer is NOT cool.

I was planning to make a PS+ subscription anyway for the free games and I don't play online offen, so that doesn't affect me.

But I see some guys in full defense mode here.

This announcement went right over my head. Sneaky bastards.

It's bullshit, and is entirely unneeded.

PS+ is worth it the price on its own to many, many people. No need to fuck over the few that aren't interested by locking multiplayer behind its paywall.

/is PS+'d up for the next two years already

I think the JUMP OUT would have to be to Wii U or PC, I was not implying a jump out to the Xbox One.

Perhaps this gen MS and Sony will lose lots of customers each.

However, I think once all this calms down most people will still buy the consoles despite their protests early on. Sales to the general consumer will still be great for both, I think.

I did predict this.  After seeing what Sony did at the PS4 release, and talking about how intense the online play was going to be, and server demands, it fully looked like hey were gearing up to charge.  Considering how badly Microsoft handled the One going to market, and online demands, Sony looks fully golden in comparison now.
