This is just another anti-ms headbash...

I wonder if he uses Steam?

His blogs/articles are always online... What a greedy and despicable bastard!

steam is completely different. It is far more flexbile.

With the offline thing?  I know you can still play games when offline. Is there a time limit?

I stayed for almost one month without internet and was able to play my Steam games just fine. That was years ago, though, so I'm not sure if Valve changed their policy or not.

Hmm, that is certainly better than 24 hours... 24hours though, is more than enough time for me personally to fix whatever issue I have with my connection. Steam has no second hand sales at all correct?

nah as in steam has been aroudn since 2003 or so and I have had it on many computers in this time frame. With xbox one once the gen is over effectively is my ability to play xbox one games I owe as I won't be able to go online to verify or worst still if my box oen craps out and I buy a second hand one I won't be able to isntall those games on my second hand xbox.

With steam if your hardware craps out well you jsut buy another pc and link it to your steam account.

Even if valuve goes bankrupt I am sure there would be a bidding war to pickup steam. Steam aint goign nowhere where as xbox one service will die off after the gen ends. We even see it now days with current gen games. FIFA or WWE or example once the new versio comes out the online services are switched of for the old, forcing you to buy new one if you want to game online. THis is the way EA controlled you on a discreet level.

Yeah you will. You can play your games on a friends account while being logged in. I doubt they'd stop you from owning another console. I doubt the X1's design will die after the gen either, if anything I think it will stretch to at least 2 of the 3 consoles. Sony had a form of DRM on the PS3 already!

Well the brutal truth is why should they care about "underprivileged gamers"? That is a poor target market who will give you small returns. You will find 99% of all companies operate under that idea so why should gaming be any different?

This is very true. What Microsoft is doing is no different then any other company that makes high end products designed for first world countries. They shouldn't be attacked for going for a specific target audience. Their target audience is a). People who have plenty of money and b). People who think they have plenty of money (these are the type of people that buy nice products on credit usually).

It sucks for these "underprivileged gamers" because they essentially aren't allowed to enjoy that product (or they have to go through a lot of trouble to enjoy it) but they have plenty of other options. If we went by the logic of "If I someone else isn't able to enjoy something, then I shouldn't be able to either." then we wouldn't be able to enjoy anything technology or service based because someone else is out there that can't enjoy it.

I agree, just like the PS3 targeted gamers with second jobs.

Just what I was thinking.

Those are two quite different situations. The PS3 launched at a very high price. The One will not launch at anywhere near that price.

If you want more clarification upon my post that you guys quoted look at my other 2-3 posts in the thread.

Gamers for a big part have always been students or people around that age, MS is disoriented about what their target audience is me thinks.

Yeah a big part of their target audience is kids, teenagers, and college students. The majority of those will not have a problem with the online check thing, especially considering the next generation of kids are growing up in an always online environment and will not think twice about something like this.

I'm a college student, and don't have much money, yet I am perfectly OK with it.

On a side note I don't think they will require a 24 hour checkup on games that you bought digitally. The only reason for the 24 hour check is to keep people from buying games, installing them, going offline forever, and selling them right away to get most of their money back despite still being able to play them.

You have to be online for the indie games on the 360 though. I don't see them letting you off the 24 hour check just because you go digital.

Microsoft greed is at an all time high. They are using there muscle once again to try and put a blanket over the ps4 e3 press conference. This will not work nor will there attempts to pay off publishers not to show up at e3 for sony. This will all blow up in microsofts face. They are trying to take there gaming consumers and force them into a new more costly medium for Microsoft to funnel cash from. It's disgusting that they are more company driven than ever before. PS4 will dominate mark my words unless you want ads of Dorito bags poppin up on your xbox one dash board 3 times a day not to mention any other thing they want to sell.
