If all these rumors are true, they may end up paying you to take the X1 off their hands! Fingers crossed!!! HAHAHA!!

I don't think it's going to work like that unfortunatly. I doubt Sky would bundle in a TV box, Subscription, Xbox One, Gold live subscription all in one package, It'd end up costing ridiculous amounts per month (Sky is flipping expensive) . It's more likely you'll have to already have a sky box/subscription to get the Xbox One to work with it.
Details are still a little on the shady side.

Do you have SKY? I think it could work with the cheapest SKU of the X1 but we should certainly wait till E3, if not just wait for more information. Nsanity will likely post something, if not, Kowen or another Xbox fan.
Edit: Also, I'm more of a Sima Yi guy!

I don't but my Mum does. Used to have it though. The only way i could see them heavily subsidising the console without increasing the price of Sky is by boosting the price of Live in the bundle. I think it'll defenitly work with an existing sky box 100% and everything. But this whole subsidising console thing just sounds like it won't work out cheap at all. Could happen though but you're right that we should wait for info.
hehe, I like Sima Yi too :)
Awesome news! If they can do it with sky, they can do it with verizon in the US too. That is what I was truely hoping for
i am thinking of getting a sky abo for a while now. but holy hell am i supposed to pay for xbox live too, to use sky? do we know that?

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:
WiiU: Donkey Kong
XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse
UK is covered. As for Canada, make a deal with Rogers and you got us in your pocket!
This could be good news for MS if they can manage that...but, remember, SKY is a very expensive service and they have been losing ground to BT Vision etc. The basic SKY package is £21.50 per month based on a 12 month deal and you don't get much for that....no sports, no movies etc, so to make the difference by using Xbox One, you would probably need a much fuller package...and it's not cheap. It would set you back £40-£50 per month. Overall, I just don't see it working for Microsoft. I'm surprised that they didn't invest in their own broadcasting online service like Netflix, Lovefilm, HBOGo & BBC iPlayer all rolled into one package. That's what I though Sony would do, but it's not going to happen is it.
Prediction (June 12th 2017)
Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)
PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

if your already required to have set top box, and the xbox one can replace it it comes down more to the cost difference between a set top box and the xbox one. Also if they can do it with Sky, they can make deals with others too.

The difference is, you will need the set top box as well as the Xbox One. The XBox One doesn't do away with the set top box, all it does is give you a window into using that other device through a MS environment.
