Can somebody enlighten me on how this is awesome? I see a sub-par third person COD with overnerfed weapons... WHY couldn't we have a coop mode where the other person play as Ellie to cover Joel from afar with the sniper? THAT would have been awesome.

I see Gears of War with a slightly different look and the ability to craft weapons. I don't see a single thing CoD about it. Players eem way more bullet spongy, move slower, and the game in general is just way slower than CoD.

I hope every mode starts you out with nothing or just a shiv or something and you have to scrounge for everything in random places.

You can still see very well where he is going to come out, which makes hide and seek, juking and whatnot rather pointless. It's still way longer visible than a 1/10th of a second like you claimed and the nameplate shouldn't show through terrain period.

As I said earlier, your tag doesn't appear as long as you never become visible initially, so hiding is still highly effective. Besides, the concept of hiding usually doesn't include running behind a object when your enemy is watching you get behind that very object. That would make hiding pointless regardless of the nametag. Hiding is positioning yourself behind something before anyone sees you. Follow that and hiding will not be pointless, which should already be common sense really.

Yes, it was longer than 1/10th of a second. I miscalculated.

You are not adressing my concern at all. Being spotted is once in a while is unavoidable unless you are a camper. The enemy tracking your movement through walls is bull. And the solution is not "well duh, dont get spotted bro"....

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I have addressed your concern. Your assertion was that hiding is pointless, which is false.

But it is. You do not even actually have to spot an enemy for him to get a nameplate. In the video, nobody wouldve even seen the guy in the bus if it wasn't for the ridiculous red name over his head giving his position away. As soon as somebody drops into your FoV he gets a red sign slapped on his head, if you are cool with that, good for you.

Pretty sure he didn't become visible until after he poked out the window and.started shooting.

Speculation, I say he did become visible as soon as he poked out of the window. You shouldn't be marked like that or camping will be very popular in this game.

Wall hacks as basic perks is stupid as hell.

I love the tense atmosphere and emphasis on survival the MP seems to stress, but it's kind of ruined when you can see where enemies are unless they are crouch walking/camping their asses off.

You're actually confusing me now. At first, you said your concern was with nametags showing through barriers. Now, you have a concern with nametags showing even when the player is clearly visible poking his head through Windows. Maybe you dislike nametags altogether.

Camping isn't going to make sense in this game because of the large player health and the low ammunition. Not that nametags have ever been the cause of camping. A game can have a radar locating every player on the map, but that doesn't necessarily lead to camping (plenty of games have done it before, actually). What dictates camping are the actual game mechanics.
