Forums - Gaming - Microsoft praises Sony's digital strategy, promises Minecraft-style hits on Xbox One

If they put a good effort and use their buying power Microsoft might catch up to Sony in 2 or 3 years when it come to digital contents

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

"if the competition starts to compliment you you have already lost"

If they can compliment one another even though they are trying to bankrupt each other, then surely use fanboys can do they same. I am going to start right now

That's funny. If Microsoft wanted to bankrupt its competitors, Apple would have been erased a long time ago.

That would be a good thing.

While MS and Sony are competitors, both of them recognize the threat to console gaming and how if either of them were to fail completely it would likely mean that the other would suffer as well.  They both took 2nd and 3rd place this gen and made them reach heights like never before.  I'd be shocked if many employees of each also owned each others consoles and enjoy games on them.  Heck, the way employees change jobs many of them have probably worked for the other company at some point.

It's actually easy for us as gamers and consumers to do the same, even if you do pick a 'side'.  There are awesome games worthy of playing all over the place.  If I had the time and money, I'd be all over everything out there like I was last gen.  No reason to draw lines in the sand and belittle those that primarily support consoles/platforms different than ours.  There's nothing superior about our choices that makes us better or smarter (or wiser).  The world is wonderfully diverse for gamers and we should embrace even more diversity.

Afer all of that, I sure hope your sentiments were genuine...

Microsoft has a lot of really smart and competitive people in management positions. They've got to have noticed that Sony and Nintendo have caught up with them and even managed to pass them in certain areas. The effort Sony is putting into securing indie games right now is certainly eye-catching. I don't believe for one second that Microsoft will let that slide. If that was their intention, to hold the status quo, if they really didn't care, then I don't think they would have said anything at all about the topic.

It's genuine. Don't feel like arguing with anyone anymore. If someone want to buy the Xbox One, PS4, or both that's their choice. Going to try and not get caught up in the drama as best I can lol
