If gamers would stop bending over every time a publisher wants to fuck them over we wouldn't be in this situation.

Your Bethesda bit shows this perfectly. Release a buggy broken boring game that runs like absolute shit on one platform and still get perfect scores, win dozens of game of the year awards and sell millions copies.
