Forums - General - What to reccomend when asked by a customer?

Thanks for the stereotypes! I didn't know that I was too poor to afford anything but a Wii, or that I fantasize about Princess Peach. You imply that the PS3 is the only option, and seem to describe people who own other systems as losers.
And for your sig: It insults me that you think that I only buy a Wii for its low price. That was one of many factors. The factor I looked at most is GAMES. You essentially believe that I have no taste in my games. Have you even played a Wii? It sounds like you haven't. Also, the Wii has something the PS3 hasn't got: INNOVATION. That is the other reason people buy a Wii.

On Topic:
I think that you should tell the customer both the good and the bad about both consoles. Let them decide with this information you give what is best for them. Once they make up their mind, you can suggest the best games for the console.

This is very simple:

Wii - this product should be offered to those without a wallet, and who are looking for cheap fun, or those loyal to Nintendo, or fantasize about having dinner with Princess Peach.

360 - this product should be offered to those with greasy hair, excessive acne, and large glasses (essentially those who look like BG), those who do not mind sending their console in once a month for repairs.

PS3 - this product should be offered to those looking to enter the High-def market, and gaming market, those who want quality, and features. Also to those who want the ultimate media experience with the fewest number of boxes sitting next to their TV.

ROFL-you made my day man. I'm putting that in my sig so I can laugh at your ignorance anytime I want.

Username 2324 is a sony fanboy. I thought everybody knew that???

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

Never EVER recommend a Wii to anyone.

...

Mainly because you'll never have them in stock and it's a lost sale.

In other words, only recommend a PS3 if you feel the customer is too stupid to set up their own DVR/gaming PC.

Ha, in fact I have played the Wii, quite a few times at that, and I found it to only be entertaining when there is a group of people. As for my post, I did put quite a bit of sarcasm in there pal. As for the innovation, what the Wii got to do with it? A new controller from the gamecube, and thats about it... I mean honestly, thats pretty much the only thing different from the Gamecube. The 360, well I think we can all agree that there isn't any innovation there, except maybe XBL? The PS3, well Blu-ray, Sixaxis, integrate Wi-fi, integrate memory card readers, the Cell, RSX, plenty of innovation.

So basically, I post stuff like that for your amusement, as well as my own, I find it HILARIOUS to see how defensive people can get.

Am I a Sony Fanboy, eh, maybe, I prefer top of the line in "innovation", quality, and features, and if you were to line up the 360, Wii, and PS3, I think you'd find the PS3 wins in quality and features hands down, as for the innovation, I suppose thats a matter of opinion. So am I a fanboy? I don't think so, just a Audio/Videophile, in which case the PS3 fits my requirements.

Oh, and thanks for the attention/comments fellas, I enjoyed it/them.

Innovate - to introduce something new;

Blu-ray - upgraded CD.  Still on a disc.  Bigger since HD, better looking, but new?

Sixaxis - like you say, (sort of), already been done by the Wiiremote

Wi-fi, memory card readers, computer chips (Cell) all done before.  All can be trivialized.

On topic:  Yeah.  Sounds like you got it down.  Only thing to add is if your questions start a glazing over look in their eyes, use the information you have before they get an input overload.

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.
