Forums - Sony - Eye 2.0 required to be plugged in?

I wouldn't be surprised. The very little we've seen of the PS4 makes me think that they're at least going to bundle the EyeToy with every system, even if it's not going to be required to be "plugged in" at all times.

I don't get these extra things. They're likely going to ramp up the cost greatly and as of yet I see nothing to actually "enhance" the games. That could change though so I'll reserve judgement.

@top - yeah, i pretty much concur.  i think they'll bundle it so they can push video chat, voice commands, and a lot of the other stuff kinect does even if the ps eye doesn't do it as well.  sony is never one to let someone else have a feature they don't also support.

@bottom - because, as kinect and motion plus and ps move all prove, if it isn't bundled in the system developers don't utilize it.  it would be like selling a wiiU sku with only the pro-controller,..  that is only a good idea if you don't care if the gamepad is supported.  in MSony want developers to use kinect/ps eye in their games they have to bundle. kinect is definetly intergral to the xbone's experience and i imagine sony wants the ps eye to be intergral to ps4 as well.

Around the Network

If it is bundled with every PS4, then PS fans have no right to criticize kinect being bundled
