Impressive technology. For that heart rate stuff it can be very useful for health purposes.

Impressive. Most impressive.

EDIT:  So Kinect 2 brings HD resolution, but more so for core gaming the ability to sign in without any interface, and split screen based on the user position, not the controller they're holding.

It'll be interesting to see if developers include the heart monitoring functionality to adjust how the character behaves in the game.  So, if you have an elevated heart rate because of your gameplay, the character on screen may need to lower his so he doesn't become exposed (thus you need to calm the F* down).

If you read yesterday's hands-on report from Microsoft's Xbox One reveal event, you already know about what the new Kinect sensor is bringing to the table over its predecessor. But reading about it is one thing and seeing it in action is another.

With that in mind, here's a quick five-minute video that outlines how all of the new Kinect's major features work in the real world. Things to look out for:

Revolutionary shirt-button-detection technology
Revolutionary awful-lamp-accommodation technology
Revolutionary ignore-the-game-sound technology
Revolutionary head-tilting technology
Revolutionary shoulder-shrugging technology
Revolutionary punch-force technology
